Decreased performance from high employee turnover can result in lower organizational profitability. Business leaders of sales organizations who lack leadership strategies to reduce voluntary turnover experience high turnover rates among millennials and observe significantly lower organizational productivity and profitability. Grounded in transformational leadership theory, the purpose of this qualitative multiple case study was to explore what strategies some business leaders in sales organizations used to reduce voluntary turnover among millennial employees. Failure to retain seasoned acquisition employees negatively impacts an organization’s performance and outcomes. Fifty-one percent of American workers in the restaurant industry are not engaged or committed to their work, resulting in high turnover. Business owners are concerned with the lack of commitment of employees because there can be a negative financial impact on the business and increased employee turnover. Small business owners who lack strategies to reduce high rates of voluntary employee turnover experience decreased organizational performance. Grounded in the two-factor theory, the purpose of this qualitative multiple case study was to explore strategies that small business owners use to reduce high voluntary employee turnover to increase organizational performance. Participants were four small business owners from Midwestern Illinois who successfully used strategies to reduce high voluntary employee turnover. Data were collected from semistructured interviews and internal documents and analyzed using thematic analysis. AbstractDecreased employee productivity can result in reduced organizational profitability. Call center leaders are concerned with decreased productivity as it cost call center leaders millions of dollars each year in profit loss. Grounded in leader-member exchange theory, the purpose of this basic qualitative study was to learn the employee engagement strategies nine call center managers in five different industries used to improve productivity in call centers. Data were collected using semi-structured interviews and review of company documents that included process improvement guides and publicly posted annual reports.
