The Academic Influence Of The Camino De Santiago: A Bibliometric Analysis Of Doctoral Research And Indexed Manuscripts, Silvia Díaz-De La Fuente, Virginia Ahedo, María Pilar Alonso Abad, José Manuel Galán
International Journal of Religious Tourism and Pilgrimage
The Camino de Santiago is one of the most recognised cultural pilgrimage routes in the world. Notably, its current influence transcends the strictly inspirational and religious aspects, constituting also a socio-economic, cultural, historical, heritage and tourism cornerstone. This paper analyses, from an innovative bibliometric perspective, the influence of the Camino de Santiago on the academic literature in the period from 1980 to the present. For this purpose, two data sources have been used comparatively: manuscripts indexed in Scopus and doctoral theses. Digital transformation assessment has not received full attention and is still rarely carried out by art galleries/museums in Indonesia. Digital transformation research on library and information science (LIS) that covers GLAM's concept focuses more on libraries, archives, and museums, while art galleries are scarce, especially in Indonesia. This study aims to conduct a digital transformation assessment of art galleries, especially the National Gallery of Indonesia (Galnas). The research uses a quantitative method by applying a digital transformation framework questionnaire that had tested at 400 cultural institutions in Italy (including art galleries). Studies analyzing the link between business digitalization, knowledge management practices, and business performance are rare, especially within the context of Indonesian Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). As such, this study investigates the effects of business digitalization and knowledge management practices on the performance of MSMEs. It thus offers novel insight into the mediative influence of knowledge management on the digitalization and performance of MSMEs. For the last decade, I’ve been studying the topic of the driving impairment of smartphones. While this began as an exclusively academic project, it has increasingly compelled public engagement. One example of this came in an opinion piece I wrote in 2018 in response to a new traffic law. I take the opportunity here to fill out the academic backstory of this particular op-ed, reflect on how this larger project has evolved to include an unanticipated public-facing edge, and abstract some lessons about public writing.

The article introduces a concept of cultured technology, i.e. intelligent systems capable of interacting with humans and showing (or simulating) manners, of following customs and of socio-sensitive considerations. Such technologies might, when deployed on a large scale, influence and change the realm of human customs, traditions, standards of acceptable behavior, etc. This realm is known as the "objective spirit" (Hegel), which usually is thought of as being historically changing but not subject to deliberate human design. The aim is to assess the impact of YouTube videos about academic writing and its skills on the writing performance of students. Theoretical perspectives from constructivism and associated learning models are used to inform the purpose of the research. The contextual setting is matriculation students awaiting admission to higher institutions. The population is 40 students belonging to a class aimed at assisting disadvantaged students in their academic writing in Scottsville, Province of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. It is fitting to think of the half-life of new media using the time-based metaphor of radioactive decay. As a metaphor, an object’s half-life can be a useful way to talk about the potent technological modernity of new media and, like Walter Benjamin’s well-known notion of the aura, call attention to an object’s performativity. However, Benjamin’s aura remains a constant reminder of irrevocable originality whereas remarking on half-life references a quality that changes over time.
