A week ago the National Football League and the NFL Players Association reached an agreement on a new seven year contract, marking the end of a labor dispute that goes back to the twenty four day strike of 1987. The settlement was reached three weeks after an apparent agreement had broken down, and four months after a federal jury in Minneapolis had ruled Plan-B free agency to be in violation of anti-trust laws. Following that decision Judge David Doty urged both parties to arrive at a settlement of their dispute, telling them that he would impose a settlement if necessary.

Three weeks ago the National Hockey League announced at the their winter meetings in Anaheim that they were expanding again, this time adding teams in Miami and Disneyland, While the addition of the Wayne Huizenga's Blockbuster video money is an important coup for the league, it pales next to the addition of the Disney Company as a franchise owner.

Customer Satisfaction Among Cable Tv Subscribers: A Case Study Of Tci Of Illinois, Inc., Gail M. Gilliland

Masters Theses

This study gauges customer satisfaction among subscribers of TCI of Illinois, Inc., cable company. Two research questions were formulated in order to determine the customer satisfaction levels: "Can a satisfaction instrument be generated to measure customer satisfaction among cable subscribers?" and "What are the levels of customer satisfaction among TCI of Illinois, Inc., subscribers?" Data was obtained from personal, mail and telephone surveying of a 10% random sample of Charleston cable television subscribers. The results indicate that a reliable and valid measuring device was generated and 39.5% of the respondents were satisfied with TCI overall.

Teleconferencing Technology: Recent Development And Implications For Hotel Industry, A.J. Singh, Kye-Sung Chon

Hospitality Review

Even though the popularity and usage of teleconferencing is evident primarily outside the lodging industry, lodging operators cannot choose to ifnore the role teleconferencing will play in meeting the changing needs of guests. The authors discuss the factors that spurred the growth of teleconferencing, the opportunities and threats faced by lodging operators, and suggestions for taking advantage of the technology.
