Heidegger E O Pensamento Contemporâneo Da Comunidade: Para Uma Hermenêutica Ontológica Do Ser-Em-Comum, Andre De Macedo Duarte

Andre de Macedo Duarte

The article discusses some theoretical relations between certain theses formulated by Jean-Luc Nancy and Roberto Esposito concerning the being of the community and what could be called as Heidegger’s ontological hermeneutics of being-together, incipiently elaborated between the period of Being and Time and the early thirties. In a first moment, after discussing Heidegger’s politicization of some of Being and Time existentials in his texts of the beginning of the 30’s decade, we formulate the hypothesis that Heidegger’s thought of the community is not compatible with nazi racism, although there are some political pronunciations of the early 30’s where he himself …

Singularisation Et Subjectivation Subjectivation Éthico-Politique. Arendt Et Foucault Autour De La Question : Qui Est Le Nouvel Acteur Politique ?, Andre De Macedo Duarte Dec 2011

Singularisation Et Subjectivation Subjectivation Éthico-Politique. Arendt Et Foucault Autour De La Question : Qui Est Le Nouvel Acteur Politique ?, Andre De Macedo Duarte

Andre de Macedo Duarte

The text proposes and discusses the hypothesis that Arendt’s notion of singularization and Foucault’s notion of subjectivation offer important conceptual contributions to the understanding of who are the actors and how do they act together in the new and autonomous political collectives, taking under consideration some post-identitarian minorities movements. The text is divided into three main parts. Firstly, I discuss Arendt’s notion of political action as the manifestation of the political agents singularity, which articulates with her understanding of politics as an end in itself. This notion seems important to understanding new forms of political engagement which do not limit …

Hannah Arendt E O Pensamento ‘Da’ Comunidade: Notas Para O Conceito De Comunidades Plurais, Andre De Macedo Duarte Sep 2011

Hannah Arendt E O Pensamento ‘Da’ Comunidade: Notas Para O Conceito De Comunidades Plurais, Andre De Macedo Duarte

Andre de Macedo Duarte

The present text aims at theoretically approximating Hannah Arendt’s reflections and the thought of Jean-Luc Nancy and Roberto Esposito, authors who have pro- posed a radical interrogation concerning being-in-common and its constitutive plu- rality. From Arendt we priorize the discussion of her concepts of action, speech, performance, freedom, plurality and singularity. From Esposito and Nancy, we emphacize their common criticisms against conceiving the community as a given subsistent reality, as well as their critiques against defining being-in-common by way of notions such as identity and subjectivity. The essay is dedicated not only to highlighting the contemporary relevance and vitality of …

Hannah Arendt: Pensar A Crise Da Educação No Mundo Contemporâneo., Andre De Macedo Duarte, Maria Rita De Assis César Jan 2010

Hannah Arendt: Pensar A Crise Da Educação No Mundo Contemporâneo., Andre De Macedo Duarte, Maria Rita De Assis César

Andre de Macedo Duarte

Abstract: Divided in three sections, the present article discusses Hannah Arendt’s reflections on the contemporary crisis in education. In the first section we establish some general theoretical connections between Arendt’s thesis concerning the contemporary crisis in education and her philosophical and political reflections on the modern political crisis. In the second section we analyze Arendt’s idea that the crisis in education is also related to the introduction of psyco-pedagogical approaches that, instead of contributing to educate the young to assume a future responsibility for the common world, keep them in their infantile condition up to adulthood, bringing forward new political …

O Acolhimento Silencioso: Ética E Alteridade Em Ser E Tempo, Andre De Macedo Duarte Jan 2008

O Acolhimento Silencioso: Ética E Alteridade Em Ser E Tempo, Andre De Macedo Duarte

Andre de Macedo Duarte

Criticizing current interpretations that stress the existential solipsism of the resolute Dasein, the present investigation emphasizes Heidegger’s contribution to the question of the acknowledgment of otherness in Being and Time. The key to uncover the post-metaphysical ethical dimension of the existential analytic is to be found in the theoretical articulation between the phenomenological analysis of anguish and that of the call of conscience. The main argument is that by responsibly hearing to the strange appeal of conscience, resolute Dasein is simultaneously opened to the acknowledgment and welcoming of the other as other.

Heidegger And The Historical-Political Character Of The Artwork, Andre De Macedo Duarte Jan 2007

Heidegger And The Historical-Political Character Of The Artwork, Andre De Macedo Duarte

Andre de Macedo Duarte

The text discusses the historial-political character attributed by Heidegger to the artwork in his 1936 essay “The origin of the work of art”. The main argument is that Heidegger’s analysis of the artwork is simultaneously an inquiry into the possibility of a new beginning in history by means of a genuine appropriation of history, a subject-matter that was altogether absent during the project of fundamental ontology. The essay on the artwork is considered as a first step in Heidegger’s formulation of his later thesis concerning Western history as the history of Being. Incidentally, this shift in Heidegger’s understanding of history …

Heidegger E Foucault, Críticos Da Modernidade: Humanismo, Técnica E Biopolítica, Andre De Macedo Duarte Dec 2005

Heidegger E Foucault, Críticos Da Modernidade: Humanismo, Técnica E Biopolítica, Andre De Macedo Duarte

Andre de Macedo Duarte

I intend to discuss Foucault’s and Heidegger’s critical diagnosis of Modernity emphasizing its continuities. Generally speaking, it is possible to argue that in Heidegger philosophical reflection assumes itself as essentially historical, while in Foucault’s case historical investigation assumes itself as an essentially philosophical task. Although recognizing the differences between Foucault’s and Heidegger’s general theoretical approaches, I argue that both consider that, in order to understand who we are today, it is necessary to elaborate a critical understanding of Modernity. In both cases, Modernity is viewed as a historical epoch characterized by humanism, i.e., by the projection of human beings as …

Heidegger E A Linguagem: Do Acolhimento Do Ser Ao Acolhimento Do Outro, Andre De Macedo Duarte Jan 2005

Heidegger E A Linguagem: Do Acolhimento Do Ser Ao Acolhimento Do Outro, Andre De Macedo Duarte

Andre de Macedo Duarte

This text investigates the ethical implications of Heidegger’s conception of language, starting with Being and Time and then analyzing his mature texts of the fifties. It develops itself around two interrelated hypothesis: the first one is that Heidegger’s mature understanding of the essence of language was already defined in its major lines in Being and Time, although at that moment it had not yet received its full development. The second hypothesis is that the welcoming of Being that underlies and constitutes the core of Heidegger’s meditation on the essence of language brings with itself intrinsic ethical implications, since it provides …

Heidegger E A Possibilidade De Uma Antropologia Existencial, Andre De Macedo Duarte Jan 2004

Heidegger E A Possibilidade De Uma Antropologia Existencial, Andre De Macedo Duarte

Andre de Macedo Duarte

The present investigation intents to discuss Heidegger’s reflections on science by focusing both on his analysis of it in Being and time and on his reflections concerning the possibility of an existentially grounded anthropology, exposed in the Zollikoner Seminare. In spite of the important transformations that affected Heidegger’s thinking concerning science after the Kehre, I shall argue that what unifies his understanding of it throughout his work is the deconstructive subordination of science to the ontological investigaton. By thus proceeding, Heidegger was able to criticize the dangerous objectifying and reifying tendencies implied by traditional scientific approaches of the human being, …

Hannah Arendt E O Pensamento Político Sob O Signo Do Amor Mundi, Andre De Macedo Duarte Dec 2002

Hannah Arendt E O Pensamento Político Sob O Signo Do Amor Mundi, Andre De Macedo Duarte

Hannah Arendt Entre Heidegger E Benjamin: A Crítica Da Tradição E A Recuperação Da Origem Da Política, Andre De Macedo Duarte Jan 2001

Hannah Arendt Entre Heidegger E Benjamin: A Crítica Da Tradição E A Recuperação Da Origem Da Política, Andre De Macedo Duarte

Refletindo …
