Can studied philosophy, psychoanalysis and law at the Goethe-Universität in Frankfurt am Main and is the recent recipient of two prestigious literary prizes (Else Lasker-Schüler Poetry prize and Alfred-Müller-Felsenburg Prize for Civil Courage in Literature).
