Welcome to the first issue of Concordia's literary journal, The Promethean. I could go on and say how much blood, sweat and tears went into the development of this journal, or how hard it has been to put out the first issue of a forum like this, but I won't. Instead, I'd rather focus on some of the work that has been submitted for your enjoyment this time around. Surprisingly enough, we have received submissions from a vast number of students on campus, students from other campuses, and faculty here and elsewhere.

Nexus Literary Journal
Nexus is a magazine that began as an insert in the Wright State Guardian student newspaper in 1965 and has since been published semi-regularly. It began only accepting creative writing, but has since expanded to include illustrations, photography and other non-written art forms. Today, it is published in a digital format and accepts submissions from around the country, though it maintains its commitment to the Wright State Community.

The magazine is almost finished- forged in the fiery loins of Beadle Hall (erect in 1886). The Editor (Hephaestus) eyes me anxiously. He's waiting for the foreword and is acutely aware of my procrastinating nature. The clock, uncaring of my plight, ticks on.
New Tricks (The Official Magazine of the Literary Stunt Dogs) has risen from the ashes of the Dakotah Poesy. The Poesy was Dakota State's literary magazine from 1986 to 1990.
