Nexus Literary Journal
Nexus is a magazine that began as an insert in the Wright State Guardian student newspaper in 1965 and has since been published semi-regularly. It began only accepting creative writing, but has since expanded to include illustrations, photography and other non-written art forms. Today, it is published in a digital format and accepts submissions from around the country, though it maintains its commitment to the Wright State Community.

Founded in 1953, Et Cetera is an annual literary magazine that publishes the creative writing and artwork of Marshall University students and affiliates. Et Cetera is free to the Marshall University community.

Wayn Blakenship, Becky Bost, Suzette Thompson, David Putnam, Barbara Wray, and Charlotte Hughes served as editors of the issue. Artistic renderings from the issue are sampled from "Scenes from the 19th Century Stage in Advertising Woodcuts" collected by Stanley Applebaum (1976).

Is poetry art or is art poetry? Or what is poetry? What is art? There is art in creating poetry. And there are the poetic elements in creating painting/any form of art.
I have been involved in writing poetry since I was in high school. My first poem was published in 1965. During that time I also received formal training in art. Writing poetry to me then was only putting together words and phrases into ideas and stories. And painting to me at that time was selecting and juxtaposing colors into beautiful pictures on canvas.

The Grace Beacham Freeman Papers documents the development of Mrs. Freeman’s career as a writer from 1948 to the 1960s as well as her relationship with various members of her family. The collection is divided into two groups. The first, her personal files, mainly includes family and personal correspondence, biographical materials, genealogical charts and histories and other papers concerning her children. The second group, her professional files, includes Mrs. Freeman’s prose, poetry, plays and radio scripts as well as correspondence with publishers, editors and Archibald Rutledge, her friend and critic.
