It was the purpose of this study to compare the effects of visual, technical instructions on the creativity and technical mastery demonstrated in the art work of a fourth grade class. The experimental group received verbal stimulation and verbal instructions plus visual instructions of technical nature. The control group received the same verbal stimulation and verbal instructions without the visual instructions. The art products from both classes were submitted to a panel of judges for a rating on, (1) whether there were observable differences between the groups in creativity and technical mastery, and (2) if there were, which group excelled …

A survey of ancient literature reveals that art as an area in school life is becoming increasingly recognized as tremendously significant to a complete participation in the creative activities of life.
