Individuals from the deaf and hard-of-hearing community are likely to experience more anxiety and depression due to defective cognitive, social, communicational, and emotional skills (Azizi et al., 2019). The word “disability” is embedded with historical negative connotations with phrases such as “deaf and dumb” because if they were deaf or mute then they were automatically labeled as inferior (Horovitz, 2007). Since the 18th century, the DHH community has been seen as incapable, even inhuman, hence the development of emotional deficiencies that bleed into one’s perception of society and their self esteem (Gallaudet, 1886).

Music education programming is generally not as accessible or available as museum education programming. General music illiteracy and the elitism of music education perpetuate a cycle of inaccessibility and lack of understanding of the value of music education. Meanwhile, the auditory art form is a fundamental component of culture, society, and history. Music’s language and history should be understood and appreciated widely. Art museum education programmers can work with music educators, music historians, and classical music programmers to incorporate music education into museum education programming. Something that always stuck with me about the Beatles, besides their music obviously, was their unique visuals. I remember as a kid I loved their album artwork for all of their albums, and how creative they were with everything they did. For my final project, I decided I want to combine two things they were known for outside of their music: their strong artistic visuals and fashion.

It became very clear while learning about the Beatles this semester is that the group truly were themselves while creating in the studio. This is an image of the group recording and I recreated the feel of that room.

The original framed collage was a birthday present when I was a huge Beatles fan in the sixth grade.

I decided to use this collage to contrast how I viewed the Beatles and how I consumed their music when I was younger and how that's evolved, as well as how their sound evolved as their career progressed.

I focused on how their songs began to be influenced by their drug use. Some of their songs with drug-influenced lyrics are featured in the painting.

This article examines the role of aesthetics in art, music, non-art objects, and activities in daily life. It shows that recognition is vital to our understanding of art and art-objects and sometimes creates conflicts which ask, what does one do with art? The question becomes more confusing when we think about non-art objects and activities which concern our everyday experiences from eating, clothing, cleaning and dealing with life's natural elements.
