The Effective Of The Chinese Position Towards The Achievement Of Palestinian Political Goals, Alaa Aldeek, Jun Ding
An-Najah University Journal for Research - B (Humanities)
The political process between the Palestinians and the Israelis did not lead to the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state in accordance with the settlement option that led to the signing of the Oslo Accords in 1993, or as stipulated in international legitimacy. Accordingly, there has been a great debate within the Palestinian arena about the effectiveness and importance of the negotiating option in achieving Palestinian political goals in the future. China supports a negotiated political solution, provided the firm and consistent implementation of international law and international resolutions towards resolving the Palestinian issue, and that Israel and …

Describing modern Hebrew literature's portrayal of Palestinian colonization as a "return of the absent," despite the evident flaws in this understanding, and deeming it a necessary element of life and civilization that non-Jewish people had to embrace, reveals a colonial awareness that gave rise to a movement. This movement, propagated by a colonial mindset, established a theory supported by all colonial forces, upon which a state was built, and a society was founded that remains unparalleled to this day, despite eight decades have passed since its inception. Arabic literature, on the other hand, depicts the tragedy of Palestine as a …

A Forgotten Woman Writer: Representations Of Women In Faridah Ahmad’S Creative Writings, Sylvia Azmy
The Undergraduate Research Journal
In her creative writings Farida Ahmad (1939-2018), an Egyptian woman writer and journalist excluded from the Arabic literary canon, subtly presents a different narrative about the leftist movement in the seventies and eighties. This research argues that Ahmad’s works, which present that women’s liberation and nation’s liberation are different, faced structural marginalization. She presents that in her novella, Akhāfu ʻalayka Minnī, using the relationship dynamics between two intellectual leftist activists, Mustafa and Nadia. Mustafa marginalizes Nadia from the political sphere through his patronizing attitude. Moreover, he utilizes the sexual (nation) liberation rhetoric and conservative rhetoric to convince Nadia to be …

In this context, we posed the following problem: What are the contexts of transformation and integration of traditional Palestinian media …

Why Islamism Failed In Syria, Ararat Kostanian
Why Islamism Failed In Syria, Ararat Kostanian
Journal of Terrorism Studies
The Arab Spring has not fulfilled the desires of millions of demonstrators in Middle East. The desires to see the expanded role of the civil society has been muted by the Islamists and particularly by the Muslim Brotherhood. The Article puts the focus on the failure of Islamism in Syria during the uprising for several reasons, such as the inability of the Muslim Brotherhood to shape a new leadership, and its rejectionist agenda that had nurtured skepticism by the opposition factions. Furthermore, the Syrian Muslim Brotherhood had been unable to change its political motivation and kept insisted on shifting the …
The De-Indigenisation Of The English Language: On Linguistic Idiosyncrasy, Fayssal Bensalah
The De-Indigenisation Of The English Language: On Linguistic Idiosyncrasy, Fayssal Bensalah
Journal of Creative Writing Studies
This paper introduces and explains a fresh adaptation of linguistic hybridity. This creative strategy is common among postcolonial, transnational and transcultural writers, who would import linguistic features from their first languages to hybridise their prose and paint it with a distinctive identity. I aim, however, to demonstrate that my English text can be hybridised without looking outside the English language, but rather by looking within it. The English language, as I argue, is already a hybrid language, populated by thousands of words borrowed from various languages, including Arabic. The words of this latter, if used intelligently and selectively in my …

Essays included fit into four categories (Politics and Power, History and Religion, Biology and Ecology, and Philosophy, Choice and Ethics) and range from Herbert's use of ecology in Dune to how game theory may help explain certain characters' apparent ability to see the future. Discovering Dune also includes an appendix which contains the only up-to-date bibliography of Herbert's work (primary and secondary sources).
The One Ring Of King Solomon, Giovanni Carmine Costabile
The One Ring Of King Solomon, Giovanni Carmine Costabile
Mythlore: A Journal of J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, Charles Williams, and Mythopoeic Literature
Tolkien source criticism has long been looking for the source of the One Ring in the wrong places. Neither the historical ispiration from World War II and the Atomic Bomb nor the proposed literary influences such as the Ring of the Nibelungs, Wagner's Ring, or the several examples of invisibility rings found in world literature may suffice to explain the complexity of Tolkien's unique creation. Nonetheless, the same cannot be said so easily with regards to another possible source once we survey the richness of the related legends: it is the fabled signet ring of King Solomon.

Effects Of Diglossia On The Acquisition Of Underlying Reading Processes: Toward Pragmatic Solutions, Mohammed R. Jouhar Phd
International Journal for Research in Education
The purpose of this systematic review was to investigate how diglossia hinders the acquisition of underlying reading processes of Arabic-speaking students and recommend pragmatic solutions that would help Arabic teachers in developing their students’ reading abilities. Results of the included studies showed that Arabic-speaking students lack standard phonemes, phonological and morphological patterns, and letters missing from their local Arabic vernaculars, which in turn, affect their word reading abilities. Nevertheless, it takes six years of systematic exposure to standard Arabic to close the linguistic gap between students’ oral and written language in terms of phonemes, letters, and phonological and morphological patterns. …
The Deletion Of The Feminine Marker In The Noble Qur’Anic Text: Readings In Trends Of Linguistic Thought, Hamdi Jabali
The Deletion Of The Feminine Marker In The Noble Qur’Anic Text: Readings In Trends Of Linguistic Thought, Hamdi Jabali
Journal of the Arab American University مجلة الجامعة العربية الامريكية للبحوث
This study relates to some aspects of the purposeful deletion of the Arabic feminine marker “ha’” in the Noble Qur’anic text. It has resulted in a lot of controversies among Arab grammarians and linguists which, by their turn, have indicated that the Arabic Language uses particles followed by words to serve certain purposes; however, Arabic deletes these particles in special contexts and circumstances. The researcher aimed to explore the deletion of the marker and the reasons for such a deletion in qur’anic texts only in order to collect as many linguistic features as possible of the Arabic language that allow …

Heritage Figures In Contemporary Algerian Feminist Poetry, Naima Boulkaibet
Journal of the Arab American University مجلة الجامعة العربية الامريكية للبحوث
Heritage in poetry may be one of the most studied themes. It is an essential element in saving identity and singularity (uniqueness) wanted by poets in their poems. That was manifested with modernism poets who coexisted with heritage and grasped the way they can use it and the charming beauty it adds to the poem. The manifestation of using heritage in the Algerian modern poetry in general and feminist poetry in particular confirms the poet’s recognition of the historical and civilizational awareness included in their poetry by the use of heritage. This study is an exploration of the way that …

Post-Colonialism Ahmed Saadawi's "Frankenstein In Baghdad": Textual Representations And Depths And The Aftermath Phrasing, Rami Abu Shehab
Journal of the Arab American University مجلة الجامعة العربية الامريكية للبحوث
The paper aimed to examine "Frankenstein in Baghdad" by the Iraqi novelist Ahmed Saadawi. The text highlighted the impact of the neo-colonial era represented by the United States' invasion of Iraq in 2003, which launched a new stage of colonialism in the twenty-first century. The novel was able to realistically reflect that historical period in terms of the post colonialism context through an imagined text. This novel reflected some features of the post colonialism novels, especially the textual depths, representations, phrasing and effect and the possibility of achieving all these features. Therefore, the hypothesis of this study was based on …

Narrative Fiction And Collective Representation Biases (Socio-Cultural Study), Loui Khalil
Journal of the Arab American University مجلة الجامعة العربية الامريكية للبحوث
The subject of the study is related to the textual city, which represents a partial narrative shadow of the real city. The study is based on the hypothesis, "All forms of groups within the Syrian city during the Baath Party rule lack cohesion and order"! Thus, the aim of the study was to seek, prove or deny this hypothesis. To achieve this purpose, the study used the tools of the sociological approach and cultural criticism to reveal the biases inherent in the texts. As a result, the hypothesis has been accepted and the need to differentiate between two types of …

Knowledge Through Divine Light: Ghazali’S Notions Of Mystical Cognition, Maisara Maasoum Marzouk
The Undergraduate Research Journal
Illumination, or knowledge through divine light, is a type of mystical cognition that Abu Hamid Ghazali regarded to be the cause of his rescue from his famous skeptical crisis. According to him, this type of divine knowledge is the apex of knowledge, to which all other sciences are subordinate. The receptive organ of this knowledge is the heart, a divine and cognitive subtlety that is distinct though related to the physical heart. Such is done by removing the veils that obstruct divine light from reaching it by means of the science of unveiling. The disclosure of knowledge that occurs once …

Some Major Problems of Modern Paremiology
Before getting to the heart of the matter, let us first make an empirical observation: in Arab societies, the recurrence of proverbial statements both at the level of oral communication and at the level of written texts is a reality that is evident. It imposes itself on it. Proverbs occupy a prominent place in Arab societies. For a very long time, the Arabs have manifested their taste for this type of concise, very expressive and full of teachings speech.

Tardiyat Abu Nawas Aspects Of Renewal In Abu Nawas’ Poems (Tardiyat), Farah Jam, Hachem Ayoubi
Al Jinan الجنان
Al Taradiyat is one of the oldest poetry. It was known by Arab people since Jahili Time and at its peak was in Abbassi time. Abu Nawas was the foremost representative of it. He created new forms. His style was far from the old poetic purposes and he used metaphors and imaginary similes derived from the luxurious life of that time. In addition to that he adopted strange words that dealt with traits of predators and describing them carefully and meticulously. Moreover it highlighted that kind of old poetry since poetry and literature are an extension of the past and …
