This dissertation aims to study about the ‘Big Forest Movement’ conducted by Ansan Dongsan Church which experienced healthy growth in its community through small group ministry. The Korean church has been leading growth and revival through church planting. However, from the 21st century, church growth is rapidly declining and planted churches are also experiencing severe period of decline. There are still many churches being planted but the reality is that many of them are not growing or being shut down. There may be various reasons for this phenomenon but the main reasons would be the lack of preparation and no …
A Study On The Healthy Church Growth Through The Revitalization Of Small Group In Traditional Church, Min Yong Park
A Study On The Healthy Church Growth Through The Revitalization Of Small Group In Traditional Church, Min Yong Park
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
The church is the body of Jesus Christ, which Christ has built and became the head of it. Therefore, the church is not a building or a social organization, but a family community of the laity who saved through Christ and united under him. Recently, however, the Korean church has lost its original nature planned by God. They achieved significant external growth that made churches around the world focus. But lost the true nature and obsessed with the outward buildings and numbers. As a result, the holy influence of the church on the world diminished.

Increase The Attendance Of The Parish Health Ministry By Ten Percent At The Greater Allen A.M.E. Cathedral Of New York, Christine A. Walcott
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
The church is not responsible for the dietary behavior of its congregants, but the mission of the church is to make disciples that will go into the nation to profess the word of God. The mission to serve God with efficacy and stamina will become a difficult task for many Christians if they are not healthy. In the Bible Jesus makes it undeniably clear the importance of taking care of the body. This is an important issue for pastors as well as for believers. This thesis project will help believers remember that the health of their bodies is an important …

Evaluating The Role Of Empowering Leadership And Church Health, Brent Colby
Doctor of Education (Ed.D)
The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of empowering leadership on overall church health. This quantitative study evaluated data collected by Natural Church Development from Assemblies of God churches in the United States between 2006 and 2016. Examining results from 361 churches and 9,619 surveys, this research answered questions relating to the statistical significance of empowering leadership on overall church health, the statistical significance of empowering leadership as a predictive domain of church health, and the most statistically significant predictor of church health. The one sample t-test, binary logistic regression test statistic, and multiple linear regression test …
Factors That Produce High-Capacity Leaders Within The Church, Daniel O. Floyd
Factors That Produce High-Capacity Leaders Within The Church, Daniel O. Floyd
Doctor of Ministry (DMin)
Population is exploding, and yet the church, in some areas, is declining. High-capacity leaders, who can lead large groups of people toward gospel advancement, are needed now more than ever. The research question that this project seeks to answer is: what are the factors that produce high-capacity leaders within the church? The topic of leadership boasts a wealth of research; however, there is a gap in the research regarding what it takes to develop a highcapacity leader, as defined in this project. The research questions are answered through a qualitative phenomenological study that involve interviewing eight pastors who are leading …
Healthy Church Multiplication In Modern Churches, William J. Burns
Healthy Church Multiplication In Modern Churches, William J. Burns
Doctor of Ministry (DMin)
Jesus’ command in Matthew 28:19 leaves no room for interpretation. The role of the followers of Jesus and of the church is decidedly clear. We are called to make disciples of all nations. An honest assessment of my local ministry context, Access Church, reveals that we, as a church, have fallen short of Jesus’ Great Commission. The intention of this research project is to understand the biblical mandate to make disciples as taught throughout Scripture, study Jesus’ discipleship methods in the book of Matthew, and, ultimately, create a new rubric to help Access Church—and other churches—understand how to measure its …
Non-Traditional Church Involvement As A Life-Course Turning Point: Qualitative Interviews With Religious Offenders, William Hunter Holt
Non-Traditional Church Involvement As A Life-Course Turning Point: Qualitative Interviews With Religious Offenders, William Hunter Holt
Dissertations
This research project conducted and then analyzed qualitative interviews from former and current addicts and criminal offenders who are voluntarily participating in the Christian faith at the same non-traditional, Protestant church. An abridged case study of this church is also provided for background and context. Life-course theory and grounded theory are utilized.
Both the offenders and this church were chosen in an attempt to better understand how the offenders’ involvement at this house of worship, along with their faith in general, have impacted them. Obtaining the perspectives of the offender is essential for three reasons. First, qualitative research conducted in …
Universal Leadership Model, Derwin Lamont Hickman Sr
Universal Leadership Model, Derwin Lamont Hickman Sr
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
The Great Commission is the call of Jesus to his people to go out into the world and make disciples. The universal leadership model presents an opportunity for disciples/leaders to step up and fulfill the Great Commission. The church should be involved in discipleship training, outreaches and supporting the issues that are aligned with Christian ideology and important to people in the communities they serve. An effective universal leadership model should include diversity, training, desired change, accountability and effectiveness of change. In so doing, the church can then find parishioners within the church who may be transformed into disciples/leaders and …

404 Error: The Digital Literacy Page Cannot Be Found, Katherine G. Schmidt Ph.D.
Faculty Works: TRS (2010-2022)
In March/April 2020 most churches around the world have been forced to close their doors due to the need for social distancing and local lock-downs in order to fight off the spread of the COVID-19 virus. The result was traditional churches had to make an unplanned and swift transition towards technologically-driven forms of gathering. Many church leaders felt out of their comfort zone, while experimenting with doing church online. At the same time, scholars and theologians began studying this new trends in how churches perform worship online. “The Distanced Church” brings together religious leaders and scholar in conversation in this …
"The Colored Problem:" Milwaukee's White Protestant Churches Respond To The Second Great Migration, Peter Borg
"The Colored Problem:" Milwaukee's White Protestant Churches Respond To The Second Great Migration, Peter Borg
Dissertations (1934 -)
In 1963 Dr. King observed that America was most segregated on Sunday mornings when its churches were filled with worshippers. My dissertation investigates the response of Milwaukee’s white urban Protestant churches to the Second Great Migration, which led to tremendous growth in the city’s African American population. The difficulty caused by many white members living in the suburbs while still attending church in racially transitioning city neighborhoods was compounded in some cases by the negative influence exerted by denominational history and polity. While those realities were often far more significant than theology in determining how individual congregations reacted to the …
