Miller Ranch

The Miller Ranch interpretive plan recommends interpreting the Miller house as it was when the Millers lived there, and using the other ranch buildings, include a historic Forest Service office and a large livestock and hay barn, for interpretation and related activities such as workshops.

The site survey, historical research, and interpretive plan were completed by University of Wyoming American Studies students as part of a summer field course and summer internship under the supervision of Mary Humstone. This interpretive plan was developed for the National Elk Refuge and in cooperation with the US Fish and Wildlife Service.

This file includes two documents pertaining to the AMK Ranch in Grand Teton National Park. The primary document is the property’s updated National Register of Historic Places nomination form (2005). The second document, a cover letter from research scientist Mary Humstone, clarifies the 1990 registration of some of the site’s buildings and the more recent decision to assess the importance of surrounding landscape features and to nominate the site as a whole for its cultural significance.
