Use Of Biomimicry Design Approach In Constructing Sustainable Resilient Structures (Case Study: Port Of Beirut), Farouk Bader, Marwan Halabi, Hiba Mohsen, Maged Youssef
BAU Journal - Creative Sustainable Development
Resiliency is not the same as sustainability, nor its substitute, but definitely the two concepts complement each other’s. Sustainability is the avoidance of depletion of natural resources to maintain ecological balance whereas resiliency is to recover, adapt and keep going in the face of setbacks. While designing with green approach is important but what will happen to leed points if the building becomes uninhabitable due to disasters, that’s where resiliency comes into play. The 2019 statistics showed that natural disasters accounted for 133 billion dollars losses and manmade ones accounted for other 7 billion in addition to 11,755 people worldwide …
Computational Design Of Nonlinear Stress-Strain Of Isotropic Materials, Askhad M.Polatov, Akhmat M. Ikramov, Daniyarbek Razmukhamedov
Computational Design Of Nonlinear Stress-Strain Of Isotropic Materials, Askhad M.Polatov, Akhmat M. Ikramov, Daniyarbek Razmukhamedov
Chemical Technology, Control and Management
The article deals with the problems of numerical modeling of nonlinear physical processes of the stress-strain state of structural elements. An elastoplastic medium of a homogeneous solid material is investigated. The results of computational experiments on the study of the process of physically nonlinear deformation of isotropic elements of three-dimensional structures with a system of one- and double-periodic spherical cavities under uniaxial compression are presented. The influence and mutual influence of stress concentrators in the form of spherical cavities, vertically located two cavities and a horizontally located system of two cavities on the deformation of the structure are investigated. Numerical …

Annotatsiya: Shahar ko`chalarida transport vositalarining soni ko`payishi sababli, transport bilan bog`liq bo`lgan muammolar ko`paymoqda. Bunga sabab qilib yo`lning infratuzilmasi va parkovka joylarining yetarli emasligini hamda mavjud parkovka joylari to`g`risida axborotni yetkazadigan tizimning yo`qligini misol qilib keltirish mumkin. Bu bir qancha salbiy oqibatlarga olib kelishi mumkin. Jumladan transport vositalaridan chiqayotgan zaharli moddalarning atrof – muhitga zarari ko`payishiga, yo`lning o`tkazish qobiliyatiga va haydovchining yo`lda ortiqcha vaqt sarflashlarga olib kelishi mumkin.
Yuqoridagi aytib o`tilgan muammolarni bartaraf etish uchun shahar parkovkalarini innovatsion intellektual loyihasini ishlab chiqish va uni hayotga tatbiq etish lozim. Bu intellektual tizim orqali transport vositalari egalari bo`sh parkovka hududlarini osongini topib …
The Effect Of Season On Construction Accidents In Saudi Arabia, Abdurahman Ammar
The Effect Of Season On Construction Accidents In Saudi Arabia, Abdurahman Ammar
Emirates Journal for Engineering Research
Construction workers are exposed to extreme conditions over a large portion of the work day during the different seasons of the year when working on construction sites. Some studies have discussed the effect of seasonal timing of work-related injuries and concluded that more injuries occur during the summer months [1]. Other studies concluded that accidents are more likely to occur during rainy seasons [2]. Construction accidents data from 2004 to 2011 were obtained from the General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI). A two way ANOVA analysis showed that there was no significant difference among the years in terms of number …
Leadership Behaviour And Worker Performance In The Nigerian Construction Industry, Abiodun Kolawole Oyetunji, John Adebiyi, Nathaniel Ayinde Olatunde
Leadership Behaviour And Worker Performance In The Nigerian Construction Industry, Abiodun Kolawole Oyetunji, John Adebiyi, Nathaniel Ayinde Olatunde
The Journal of Values-Based Leadership
Leadership is a dynamic process in which an individual influence other to contribute to the achievement of an assigned task. This paper investigates leadership behaviour and its impact on construction workers’ performance in Lagos, Nigeria. Purposive sampling technique was adopted to select 50 site-supervisors and 250 construction-workers involved in simple construction works. An investigation was carried out using a questionnaire survey method. The leadership variables investigated were ranked, regressed and correlated to workers performance. From the primary data analysis, leadership behaviour exhibited by supervisors were found to influence the site workers commitment to achieving the goal of the construction projects. …
Proposed Framework For Teaching The Ethics Of Professional Practice For Architecture Colleges In Saudi Arabia, Abdulaziz Alhrabi, Tariq Alsolman
Proposed Framework For Teaching The Ethics Of Professional Practice For Architecture Colleges In Saudi Arabia, Abdulaziz Alhrabi, Tariq Alsolman
Emirates Journal for Engineering Research
The problem of this paper lies in the weakness of teaching ethical professional practices in the academic programs of architecture colleges. Students have some shortcomings in the knowledge of professional ethical deviations that occur in building construction projects, and how they are handled, because of the lack of inclusion and coverage of professional ethics in the curricula of the current architecture taught to students. This could result in falling in the lapses that disturb work, whether intentionally or unintentionally. The paper reviewed an analysis of the programs and plans of architecture colleges in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The search included …

An Investigation Of Sustainability Issue For Building Construction In North Cyprus, Hasan Samih Kalwry M.Sc., Halil Zafer Alibaba Associate Professor
Journal of Environmental Sustainability
The action of construction it is perceived to have a significant influence on the environmental assessment. In spite of the confession that environmental issues are significant in the construction field, and is slow to alteration the conventional way to combine environmental issue as part of the decision process. With increased information and awareness about these influence, among these sustainable building construction and material issues. In this article was began with investigate these issues in the North Cyprus, a questionnaire survey was conducted to investigate the scale of awareness, learning and implementation of sustainability in practices between architect’s perception and how …
A Study On The Impact Of Monetary Policies On Nigerian Property Market, Abiodun Jogunola, Chibuike R. Emele, Austin C. Otegbulu
A Study On The Impact Of Monetary Policies On Nigerian Property Market, Abiodun Jogunola, Chibuike R. Emele, Austin C. Otegbulu
Bullion
The authority responsible for formulating monetary policies in Nigeria has focused more on the oil and gas sector while other sectors such as the property sector have not been given their deserved attention with regards to monetary policy formulation. Hence, this study examined the impact of monetary policy rate on the Nigerian property market. It was revealed that the key economic indicators that are relevant to the real estate sector includes interest rate, (monetary policy instrument), GDP, exchange rate , inflation rate as well as international oil price. The findings showed that in the long term monetary policy rate has …
