Since 2015, a violent war has waged in Yemen between rebel forces and a Saudi Arabian led coalition. This conflict has resulted in thousands of civilian casualties, an unparalleled humanitarian crisis, and the flagrant disregard and violation of international humanitarian law. A silent victim of the conflict is Yemen's millennia-old cultural heritage. Dozens of ancient monuments, historical buildings, and museums have been systematically targeted and destroyed by the coalition in unprecedented acts of cultural warfare.
