June 11, 2003 letter from S. Morton Vose II noting that the name "Cajacet" was given to the farm by his grandfather, Seth Morton Vose, Sr. Vose Sr. said that it meant "old man's rest" in the Indian language. However, Vose II notes that he has never been able to confirm this translation.

This research will further the understanding of how the African and African American community contributed to the development and cultural landscape within Newport. This capstone is a feasibility study for the adaptive reuse of the Colt estate stable in Bristol, RI by analyzing two possible adaptive reuse scenarios. The two scenarios the report focuses on is a special event venue and a horse stable and training facility. The goal of the report is to examine which scenario would be a feasible option for the existing structure while maintaining its historical integrity. Feasibility was determined by analyzing and assessing factors such as assumptions and limitations that are associated with the structure and the adaptive reuse process. The Baptist Church in Warren is located in the Warren Waterfront Historic National Register District. Warren also has a Voluntary Historic District. Both the National Register Nomination and the Voluntary Historic District have regulations which pertain to changes to the exterior view shed of the building. Exterior work on this project will need to abide by the State of Rhode Island and the Providence Plantations Rehabilitation Code for existing buildings and structures and the Town of Warren Department of Building and Zoning. GuideStar, an online service that provides information on nonprofit organizations in the United States, was used to identify all the nonprofit organizations in downtown Woonsocket, as well as who the executive directors are and the names of people on the board of directors. Internet research was also utilized to access the websites where the students could gather contact information. The names and contact information that were collected were listed in the reference document. The list, to the students’ best abilities, is a comprehensive cross sections of business owners, non-profit leaders, and political leaders.

Pomham Rocks Lighthouse: Reuse And Rehabilitation Feasibility Report, Arnold Robinson, Caitlin Merritt, Nina Caruso, Derek Danderand

The lighthouse has withstood the passing of time, including the harsh coastal weather elements. Pomham Rocks’ significance was obtained through its historic function, architectural style and keeper history. Pomham Rocks Lighthouse was listed in 1976 on the National Register of Historic Places.

Pomham Rocks Light Station consists of nearly half an acre situated atop of a promontory, approximately 800 feet off the mainland of East Providence at the upper reaches of Narragansett Bay in what is called the Providence River.
