Study On Heavy Metal Content Calculation And Agricultural Potential Based On Hyperspectral Remote Sensing Image Processing, Xiangyu Shan, Fei Dou, Shuangquan Gao, Chuanping Liu, Cangbai Li

Turkish Journal of Agriculture and Forestry

Soil is the main influencing factor for plant growth, reproduction, and distribution. With the acceleration of industrialization and the intensification of human activities, the problem of heavy metal pollution in agricultural soil is becoming increasingly prominent. Heavy metals in soil are toxic and easily absorbed by plants, and consuming contaminated crops poses a great threat to human health. Therefore, it is necessary to monitor the content of heavy metals (HMs for short here) in soil. Hyperspectral Remote Sensing (HRS for short here) has great application prospects in obtaining quantitative information of soil organic matter, minerals and other components due to …

Turkish Journal of Chemistry

Pd (0) nanoparticles (NPs) distributed on lanthanum (III) oxide were ex situ generated from the reduction of Pd2+ ions using NaBH4 as reducing agent. The Pd/La2O3 displayed good catalytic activity in H2(g) releasing from the hydrazine-borane (HB) methanolysis reaction and it was identified by advanced techniques. Pd/La2O3 was found to be an active catalyst procuring three equiv. H2(g) per mole of HB. The results from TEM images represent the formation of Pd (0) NPs with an average particle size of 1.94 ± 0.1 nm on the surface of La2O3. Moreover, Pd/La2O3 with various Pd loadings were prepared and tested as …

Different Doses Of Cadmium In Soil Negatively Impact Growth, Plant Mineral Homeostasis And Antioxidant Defense Of Mung Bean Plants, Fahad Mohammed Alzuaibr Aug 2023

Different Doses Of Cadmium In Soil Negatively Impact Growth, Plant Mineral Homeostasis And Antioxidant Defense Of Mung Bean Plants, Fahad Mohammed Alzuaibr

Turkish Journal of Agriculture and Forestry

Heavy metal (HM) pollution of soil has become a gigantic issue across the globe. Metals enter the food chain and cause problems in plants, animals, and humans. We performed this work to evaluate the impacts of different cadmium (Cd) levels on growth, physiology, mineral nutrition, and yield attributes of Vigna radiata. Changes in growth fund are statistically significant and directly linked with an increase in Cd doses. Various concentrations of cadmium exhibited significant (p ≤ 0.05) vicissitudes in biochemical parameters such as in the contents of chlorophyll, amino acids, soluble proteins, and total soluble sugars in experimental plants. The shoot …

Carbon Quantum Dots And Chitosan-Based Heterogeneous Silver Catalyst For Reduction Of Nitroaromatic Compounds, Farah Sami̇r Sali̇m, İdri̇s Sargin, Gülşi̇n Arslan

Turkish Journal of Chemistry

Chitosan plays a crucial role in catalysis, environmental remediation, and sustainable chemistry as a renewable and cationic polysaccharide. Chitosan-based metal catalysts are used in a broad range of chemical transformations. In the study, carbon quantum dots (CQDs) were derived from Momordica charantia fruits by microwave irradiation following a green chemistry approach. Three catalysts were designed: Ag(0)-chitosan, Ag(0)-chitosan-M. charantia fruit powder, and Ag(0)-chitosan-CQDs. The catalyst supports were prepared by stabilizing CQDs or M. charantia powder within the polymeric matrix of chitosan beads. Metallic silver particles were anchored onto glutaraldehyde cross-linked chitosan beads from the aqueous solution of silver nitrate. The …

Activated Charcoal Alleviates Fluoride Stress By Restricting Fluoride Uptake And Counteracting Oxidative Damages In The Rice Cultivar Mtu1010, Ankur Singh, Swarnavo Chakraborty, Aryadeep Roychoudhury

Turkish Journal of Botany

This work was aimed to explore the efficacy of activated charcoal (5 mg g-1 soil) in abating fluoride (25 mg L-1 NaF) stress in rice seedlings, since the protective role of charcoal is widely reported against other forms of abiotic stress. Application of NaF solution reduced germination rate, dry and fresh weight, and shoot and root length of seedlings. Extensive fluoride accumulation lowered the chlorophyll level along with higher electrolyte leakage and formation of H2 O2 , malondialdehyde, and methylglyoxal. Administration of activated charcoal lowered the extent of oxidative damages by inhibiting the uptake of fluoride ions. Exogenous …
