A Plan For An Informal Adult Vocational Program For The Boys Town Vocational Career Center, George J. Pfeifer

Student Work

Americans seek some form of education outside the established education system indicating that the education system, as we have known it, is just not adequate to meet the needs of a great many Americans. Growing up beside the established system are alternate schools, massive programs of on-the-job training, external degree programs, cooperative educational programs, learning networks and independent study programs. Stetar states, "The potential audience for such an effort is significant: at present more than 21 million persons, approximately 10 percent of our total population, are over 65." In a study of continuing education programs in an eleven county region …

A Study Of Negotiated Agreements Of Selected Nebraska Class Iii Schools And Resulting Guidelines For Similar Iowa Schools, James A. Kerns

Student Work

Senate File Five Thirty One was signed by the Governor of Iowa into law on April 23, 1974. There was little litigation among Iowa schools related to the writing of negotiated agreements prior to April 23, 1974. There has been very little litigation since that date. There may be much more such litigation within the next five years because the Iowa Public Employees Relations Act goes into affect on July 1, 1975, for all teachers in the state. School superintendents in Nebraska have been working out such agreements since 1967.

School Morale And Self-Esteem Involving Adolescents With Learning Disabilities, Ted E. Barrett

Master's Theses

A student's cognitive achievement may be facilitated or repressed by various elements that constitute his affective character; his feelings, attitudes, and expectations form a substantial relationship with achievement. Rather than limiting themselves to evaluating those cognitive areas that relate with various measures of achievement, the administrators and staff members at the New Community School (NCS) have specified a desire to investigate and measure both the attitudes toward school and the self held by their attending students. Within the domain of educational evaluation, greater significance is being accorded to the students' values, interests, and attitudes(Lockwood 1973). In keeping with such considerations, …
