Corporal punishment by parents or guardians, family members and relatives is an accepted cultural practice in Ethiopia. Aside from parents and other family members, many children are also abused (physically and sexually) by other persons who by chance meet them. At the same time, there are undergoing activities related to child abuse management by concerned institutions. Coordinated child abuse management involves various professionals and institutions. This paper examines the situation of child abuse and its management in Addis Ababa focusing on challenges and controversies revolving around this social problem. International Vocational Education and Training Association (IVETA) Conference

Paper-source portfolios have become instrumental in measuring learning and promoting one's accomplishments. However, they lack an interactive component and are frequently cumbersome to carry and disseminate. On-line career portfolios overcome many of the difficulties of paper-source portfolios and provide additional benefits. This article discusses these benefits along with the caveats of on-line portfolios and responsibilities of the network administrator and students.

Incarcerated Women's Identity Development: Becoming A Self At The Margins, Carolyn M. Clark, Susam M. Hill, Deborah W. Kilgore

This study explores the developmental experience of women at the margins of society. Our findings suggest that the role of connection is problematic for these women and gives rise to a self that has a restricted degree of agency, but one that is paradoxically resilient and sensitive to her social context.
