Attachment, Individuation, And Perceptions Of Early Caregiver Relationships Among Suicidal And Non-Suicidal Adolescents., David Michael. Ledgerwood

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

This study sought to investigate how attachment, individuation, perceptions of family life, and family related experiences and relationships contribute to our understanding of suicidal ideation and attempt in adolescents. Adolescent volunteers (N = 153, 98 female and 55 male) recruited from four youth centers in Southwestern Ontario participated in a survey. Participants completed a series of questionnaires consisting of questions about early experiences (e.g., close relationships, abuse, addiction, suicide history), attachment in romantic relationships, emotional autonomy from parents, relationship with parents, perceptions of family life, depression and suicidal ideation. Results revealed significant differences based on suicide history (i.e., past attempt …

It Depends On The Situation: Monitoring, Blunting And Perceived Control., Ritu. Kaushal Jan 2002

It Depends On The Situation: Monitoring, Blunting And Perceived Control., Ritu. Kaushal

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

When placed in a threatening situation, individuals may seek information about the source of their distress (monitor) and/or avoid such information (blunt) in order to cope with it. The choice of coping strategies adopted can be influenced by various situational characteristics. The purpose of the present study was to investigate the relationship among the constructs of monitoring, blunting, and one situational characteristic, namely perceived control. Two hundred and seventeen undergraduate students completed the Monitoring-Blunting Questionnaire (MBQ). They were presented with ten stressful scenarios and asked to indicate the extent to which they would seek information (monitor) and avoid information (blunt) …

Memory Functioning In Children Born With Low Birth Weight: A Comparison With Normal Birth Weight Children Diagnosed With Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder., Tammy L. Whitlock

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

Medical advances over the last two decades have lead to increased survival rates of children born with increasingly lower birth weights. Studies have revealed that the lower the birth weight of the child, the higher the possibility that he/she will develop some associated neurological and neuropsychological problems. Archival data for children used in this study were collected through a retrospective chart review at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. The purpose of this study was to examine possible deficits in different aspects of memory, (visual, verbal, and delayed recall) in children born with LBW and to compare these deficits with …

Neediness And Connectedness: Mediators Of Outcome In Cognitive Therapy Or Pharmacotherapy For Depression?, Nicola Elizabeth. Fitzgerald Jan 2002

Neediness And Connectedness: Mediators Of Outcome In Cognitive Therapy Or Pharmacotherapy For Depression?, Nicola Elizabeth. Fitzgerald

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

The purpose of this study was threefold: examine the main effects of baseline DEQ Neediness and Connectedness (Rude & Burnham, 1995; Blatt et al., 1995) on outcome of treatment for unipolar depression; examine the mediating effects on outcome of change during treatment in Neediness and Connectedness; investigate whether these personality constructs (Neediness and Connectedness) correlate with specific clusters of depression symptoms. Archival data were used consisting of a sample of outpatients diagnosed with unipolar depression who received either Cognitive Therapy (CT) (n = 51) or Pharmacotherapy (PT) (n = 58). In the CT group, high baseline Neediness was associated with …

Semantic Category Effect And Emotional Valence In Female University Students., Ruby Geraldine Brousseau Jan 2002

Semantic Category Effect And Emotional Valence In Female University Students., Ruby Geraldine Brousseau

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

The semantic category effect is a phenomenon of semantic memory revealing a category dissociation of biological and nonbiological objects on picture naming and other tasks of semantic memory. In patients with Alzheimer's Disease, category dissociation typically reflects a nonbiological advantage in that these patients are more proficient at naming artifacts over biological stimuli. In contrast, younger, healthy individuals appear to show the opposite pattern of performance in that they are generally more adept at naming biological items. Several diverse theories have been posited to explicate the possible basis of this phenomenon. A new hypothesis presented in this study proposed that …

Clinicians' Incorporation Of A Sociopolitical Analysis In The Conceptualization And Treatment Of Women's Psychological Distress., Heather Ann. Getty Jan 2002

Clinicians' Incorporation Of A Sociopolitical Analysis In The Conceptualization And Treatment Of Women's Psychological Distress., Heather Ann. Getty

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

Women's experience of psychological distress is influenced in part by unique economic, social, cultural, and political pressures associated with being female in a patriarchal society. Feminist researchers and clinicians have argued that clinical psychology has paid insufficient attention to the role of sociopolitical factors in women's distress, and claim that this oversight reinforces a patriarchal status quo that ultimately disempowers women. The present study investigated the range of ways in which a sample of 25 clinicians transformed psychotherapeutic practice in line with their perceptions of sociopolitical influences on women's distress. It also examined broad contextual factors influencing clinicians' incorporation of …

Eating Disturbances In Preadolescent Girls: Protective And Risk Factors., Susan Jane. Walsh Jan 2002

Eating Disturbances In Preadolescent Girls: Protective And Risk Factors., Susan Jane. Walsh

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

Although numerous eating disorder risk factors have been identified, protective factors have been underresearched (Shisslak & Crago, 2001). Moreover, despite calls by prevention researchers, our understanding of disordered eating during preadolescence is limited (Smolak & Levine, 2001). The objective of the present study was to identify potential protective and risk factors for eating disturbances in preadolescent girls. The sample consisted of 381 preadolescent girls in grades 4--6. Participants completed a battery of questionnaires assessing such constructs as disordered eating attitudes and behaviours, self-esteem, emotional autonomy, attributional style, coping strategies, perceived social pressures for thinness, parental care/overcontrol, and peer support. Potential …

Barriers To Adolescent Help-Seeking: Who's Not Seeking Help And Why?, Lindsay Jane. Stanhope

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

This study examined the barriers to formal and informal help-seeking behaviour of adolescents. The sample was 451 students (176 male, 275 female) between the ages of 14- to 19-years from high schools in southwestern Ontario. Participants completed self-report questionnaires measuring: background information, stressful problems, perceived and utilized help-seeking resources, barriers to formal and informal help seeking, and internalizing problems. The types of stressful problems most often indicated were with respect to school, family, relationships, friends/peers, and illness/death. Females and older adolescents both reported greater seriousness, severity, and perceived need for help with stressful problems. Two-thirds of the sample sought help …

Chinese Immigrant Youth In Vancouver, Canada: An Examination Of Acculturation, Adjustment, And Intergenerational Conflict (British Columbia)., Iris. Sharir Jan 2002

Chinese Immigrant Youth In Vancouver, Canada: An Examination Of Acculturation, Adjustment, And Intergenerational Conflict (British Columbia)., Iris. Sharir

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

Research with adolescent migrants suggests that they may be at greater risk of experiencing mental health difficulties and intergenerational conflict than their non-immigrant peers. However, few studies have focused on factors that are associated with the mental health status and family relationships of migrant youth. Using the acculturation framework proposed by Berry (1999), the present study examined the impact of acculturation strategy, demographic factors, and migration-related variables on the psychological adjustment and family relationships of 152 first generation Chinese immigrant youth. Twenty-eight second generation Chinese immigrant youth and 36 third and later generation Canadian youth served as comparisons. Participants completed …

Together Just Enough To Care: Examining Moral Orientation Use In Individuals And Couples., Cheryl Dawn. Aubie Jan 2002

Together Just Enough To Care: Examining Moral Orientation Use In Individuals And Couples., Cheryl Dawn. Aubie

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

The present study investigated how individuals and romantic couples resolve moral dilemmas and served as an empirical test of Gilligan's (1982) view that men and women use different orientations when resolving moral dilemmas, based on considerations of justice and care, respectively. The role that gender orientation plays in moral orientation was also examined, as was the potential effect of varying the gender of the protagonist of the dilemmas. Participants responded to 4 fictitious dilemmas individually and 1 additional dilemma together with their partners, as a couple. Data was analysed using a 2 (gender of the participant) x 2 (gender of …

Overcoming Adversity: The Protective Role Of Locus Of Control, Attributional Style, And Self-Efficacy, In The Promotion Of Resilience., Mandy Mary Anne. Gunby Jan 2002

Overcoming Adversity: The Protective Role Of Locus Of Control, Attributional Style, And Self-Efficacy, In The Promotion Of Resilience., Mandy Mary Anne. Gunby

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

One main purpose of the present study was to investigate the ability of internal locus of control, optimistic attributional style, and high self-efficacy to serve as protective factors, buffering the negative impact of life stressors (both number of negative life events and daily hassles) on current competence (overall, as well as in the academic, social, and emotional domains). Given that an examination of protective factors presupposes that life stressors actually constitute risk factors for maladjustment, another related purpose was to examine this relationship directly, to determine whether such an assumption is justified. The present results suggest that the influence of …

Rorschach Concomitants Of Intelligence., Sarah E. A. Bertrim Jan 2002

Rorschach Concomitants Of Intelligence., Sarah E. A. Bertrim

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

This study is an attempt to elaborate on the conceptualization of intelligence as a facet of overall personality organization. The purpose of this study was to evaluate Rorschach variables that have been conceptually or empirically associated with cognitive complexity, and to improve upon previous research in this area. Archival data from a heterogeneous sample of 80 clinical and community adult participants were used. Participants' scores on the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale - Revised (WAIS-R) or - Third Edition (WAIS-III) and on selected variables of the Rorschach according to the Comprehensive System (Exner, 1993) were analyzed. The Rorschach variables included were …

Subjective Cognitive Complaints In Hiv Infection: Utility In Predicting Neuropsychological Deficits., Sherri L. Carter Jan 2001

Subjective Cognitive Complaints In Hiv Infection: Utility In Predicting Neuropsychological Deficits., Sherri L. Carter

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

The main objective of this retrospective study was to clarify the nature of the relationship between subjective cognitive complaints and actual neuropsychological skills in HIV-infected individuals. The sample consisted of 156 HIV-positive adults (148 men; 8 women), of whom 18 were asymptomatic (CDC-A), 61 were mildly symptomatic (CDC-B), and 76 had AIDS-defining illnesses or CD4 counts less than 200 (CDC-C). Neuropsychological functioning was assessed by clinical ratings based on neuropsychological test performance. In Part One of the study, the interrelationships among variables affecting cognitive complaints were examined using a structural equation model. Cognitive complaints independently predicted poorer neuropsychological performance, despite …

Gender Weighting Of Dsm-Iv Personality Disorder Criteria., Melissa. Hobbs Jan 2001

Gender Weighting Of Dsm-Iv Personality Disorder Criteria., Melissa. Hobbs

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

The primary purpose of the current study was to determine the degree, if any, to which gender stereotypes are reflected within the criteria of DSM-IV Axis II Personality Disorders (PDs). Participants consisted of 73 university undergraduate students (33 males and 40 females), who were instructed to sort each of the 91 PD criteria, presented individually on index cards, along a dimension of masculine to feminine. A secondary aim was to determine if participants who were instructed to sort the cards into five piles ranked the criteria differently from those participants who were free to sort the criteria into as many …

Pain Beliefs, Coping, And Social Support As Predictors Of Physical And Psychological Adjustment In Chronic Pain Patients., Sophie. Beugnot Jan 2001

Pain Beliefs, Coping, And Social Support As Predictors Of Physical And Psychological Adjustment In Chronic Pain Patients., Sophie. Beugnot

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

The cognitive-behavioral model of chronic pain (Turk, 1984) has dominated the literature on adjustment to chronic pain. Many studies have examined the role of pain beliefs and coping in the development of depression and physical disability among chronic pain patients. In the current study, a biopsychosocial model of chronic pain is proposed and evaluated. This model builds on the cognitive-behavioral model by positing that social support also plays a role in the adjustment process in addition to pain beliefs and coping. Thus, this study examined how pain locus of control, coping, and emotional and instrumental support predict depression and physical …

Emotional And Psychosocial Sequelae Of Patients With Craniocerebral Traumas: A Subtype Analysis Using The Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (Mmpi)., Erin Michelle. Warriner Jan 2001

Emotional And Psychosocial Sequelae Of Patients With Craniocerebral Traumas: A Subtype Analysis Using The Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (Mmpi)., Erin Michelle. Warriner

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

Archival data for subjects used in this study were collected over the past 18 years through the Adult Acquired Brain Injury Program (ABIP) at Chedoke Hospital in Hamilton, Ontario. Of the 966 subjects in the initial sample who were referred for a routine neuropsychological evaluation following a craniocerebral trauma (CCT), 331 met the employed inclusionary criteria: (1) single incident of CCT; (2) no history of additional neurological diseases; (3) WAIS-R FSIQ greater than 85 and/or estimated reading skills above grade 5 level; and (4) valid MMPI profiles (i.e., F < 89, L < 65, and K < 65). Emotional and psychosocial functioning in individuals with CCT was investigated by subjecting the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI) profiles of individuals in randomly split samples (n = 166; n = 165) to a three-step cluster analytic approach. A seven cluster solution was adequately replicated across samples and across clustering techniques: (1) the profile for subtype 1 was indicative of marked somatic, internalizing, and externalizing behavioural difficulties (Combined Somatic-Internalized-Externalized); (2) the profile for subtype 2 was indicative of no concerns or normal functioning (Normal); (3) the profile for subtype 3 was indicative of marked internalizing difficulties (Internalized); (4) the profile for subtype 4 was indicative of primarily mild somatic and pain concerns (Somatic); (5) the profile for subtype 5 was indicative of mild disinhibition and externalizing behavioural difficulties (Mild Externalized); (6) the profile for subtype 6 was indicative of severe emotional, psychosocial, and behavioural disturbances (Severe Psychopathology); and (7) the profile for subtype 7 was indicative of mild internalizing difficulties (Mild Internalized). The relation between subgroup membership and various demographic variables (i.e., nature of accident, sex, marital status, pre-injury vocation, time post-injury, age at testing, estimated levels of cognitive functioning, highest level of education) and loci of brain damage was also investigated.Dept. of Psychology. Street Youth Suicide In Canada: A Qualitative Analysis., Sean Andrew. Kidd Jan 2001

Street Youth Suicide In Canada: A Qualitative Analysis., Sean Andrew. Kidd

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

This study was developed to address the problem of the high rates of suicidality found among street youth. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 80 street youth in agencies and on the streets of Toronto and Vancouver. Participants described the meanings suicide held for them and their understandings of the phenomenon of suicide among street youth. Qualitative analysis of the interviews revealed themes of worthlessness, loneliness, hopelessness, and most centrally the feeling of being 'trapped' that form the construct of suicide held by the participants. These idioms of distress were situated within the context of the street life that included social …

Stress, Identity Status, And Well-Being In Young Adults., Sharon. Jeyakumar Jan 2001

Stress, Identity Status, And Well-Being In Young Adults., Sharon. Jeyakumar

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

This study examined identity achievement in the context of a stress and coping relation. Previous research has shown that identity status is related to self-esteem, emotional distress, capacity for intimacy, and cognitive advancement, with identity achievement being associated with more optimal states. Previous research has also shown that identity status is related to the social-cognitive orientations, or identity styles, that are utilized in encountering information, making decisions, and solving problems. These identity styles, in turn, have been found to be related to specific coping strategies an individual uses to deal with stress. Drawing from these findings, it was hypothesized that …

Clinical Memory Subtypes In Hiv-1 Infection: A Novel Approach., Shemira. Murji Jan 2001

Clinical Memory Subtypes In Hiv-1 Infection: A Novel Approach., Shemira. Murji

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

The present study sought to delineate empirically derived memory subtypes using the California Verbal Learning Test (CVLT; Delis, Kramer, Kaplan, & Ober, 1987) in a sample of HIV-1 infected adults (N = 154). First, confirmatory factor analysis was used to evaluate eight models of the CVLT structure suggested by Wiegner and Donders (1999). A four-factor model, consisting of Attention Span, Learning Efficiency, Delayed Recall, and Inaccurate Recall appeared to be the best fitting model. Next, variables with the highest factor loadings from the model were entered in a two-stage cluster analysis. Four reliable CVLT clusters or subtypes were identified: Normal, …

Empirically Derived Psychopathology Subgroups In Traumatic Brain Injury., Colleen Patricia. Millikin Jan 2001

Empirically Derived Psychopathology Subgroups In Traumatic Brain Injury., Colleen Patricia. Millikin

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

The purpose of the present study was to identify psychopathology subgroups within three samples of individuals with traumatic brain injury (TBI). The majority of patients in all three samples met criteria for mild traumatic brain injury. Psychopathology was measured using two versions of the Millon Clinical Multiaxial Inventory (MCMI-I and MCMI-II). In each sample, selected MCMI scales were entered into multiple methods of hierarchical cluster analysis. In study 1, the MCMI-I profiles of 187 workers' compensation claimants were analyzed. Study 2 involved the MCMI-II profiles of 88 workers' compensation claimants. In study 3, the MCMI-II profiles of 70 medical-legal patients …

The Effects Of An Emotional Disclosure Writing Task On The Physical And Psychological Functioning Of Children Of Alcoholics., Melanie Dawn. Gallant Jan 2001

The Effects Of An Emotional Disclosure Writing Task On The Physical And Psychological Functioning Of Children Of Alcoholics., Melanie Dawn. Gallant

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

The present study investigated the effects of an emotional disclosure writing task on the physical and psychological functioning of preteen and adolescent children of alcoholics (N = 53). It was hypothesized that writing about stressful events would have significant physical and psychological health benefits. Physical and psychological health were assessed with measures of strength and difficulties, internalizing symptoms, affect, and physical symptoms. These measures were administered at baseline and again at follow-up. Participants were randomly assigned to one of three conditions: an emotional writing group (N1 = 18) who wrote about their thoughts and feelings with respect to stressful events, …

Psychological Adjustment In Later Life: Environmental Choice, Motivational Style And Locus Of Control As Contributing Factors., Lynn A. Perreault Jan 2001

Psychological Adjustment In Later Life: Environmental Choice, Motivational Style And Locus Of Control As Contributing Factors., Lynn A. Perreault

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

According to self-determination theory, high environmental choice leads to self-determined forms of motivation which, in turn, lead to psychological adjustment. However, O'Connor and Vallerand (1994b) found that degree of environmental choice and motivational style must be congruent for the optimal psychological adjustment of older adults living in nursing homes. Research also indicates that the psychological adjustment of elderly persons depends on the congruence between environmental choice and health locus of control orientation. The present study sought to gain a better understanding of the relationship between environmental choice, motivational style, and health locus of control orientation in predicting the psychological adjustment …

The Diagnosis Of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (Adhd) By Psychologists, Pediatricians, And General Practitioners., Shelley. Wilkin Bloch Jan 2001

The Diagnosis Of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (Adhd) By Psychologists, Pediatricians, And General Practitioners., Shelley. Wilkin Bloch

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

It was the goal of the current study to provide a comprehensive assessment of the diagnosis of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and several factors which may relate to diagnostic accuracy in particular. Specifically, the study used four conditional probability indices---sensitivity, specificity, hit rate, and miss rate---to examine the relationship between diagnostic accuracy and the profession of the practitioner making the diagnosis, behaviour/symptom information, and gender information of a case. A mail survey method was used to present eight written case vignettes, which depicted four male and four female symptom presentations, to Ontario psychologists, pediatricians, and general practitioners for diagnosis. Symptom presentations …

The Eating Disorders Continuum: Assessing Coping Styles, Perceived Stress, And Perceived Social Support., Alicia Margaret. Hendley Jan 2001

The Eating Disorders Continuum: Assessing Coping Styles, Perceived Stress, And Perceived Social Support., Alicia Margaret. Hendley

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

Previous researchers have suggested that a continuum of eating disturbance exists, with chronic dieting at one end of the spectrum, and clinically diagnosed eating disorders at the other (e.g., Mintz & Betz, 1988). With this view has come the recognition that individuals with varying levels of eating pathology report considerable distress (e.g., Killen, 1996). In particular, it has been found that a high percentage of individuals who seek outpatient treatment for an eating problem suffer from a subclinical eating disorder (e.g., American Psychiatric Association, 2000). The present study examined whether or not three different groups along a hypothesized continuum of …

The Relationships Among Childhood Maltreatment, Alexithymia, Social Avoidance, And Social Support., Andrea M. Turner Jan 2001

The Relationships Among Childhood Maltreatment, Alexithymia, Social Avoidance, And Social Support., Andrea M. Turner

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

This study evaluated a causal model of the relationships among childhood maltreatment, alexithymia, social avoidance, limited social support, and dissatisfaction with social support. The model was evaluated separately for physical and emotional abuse, sexual abuse, physical neglect, and emotional neglect. Undergraduate students (n = 204) completed the Childhood Trauma Questionnaire, Toronto Alexithymia Scale-20, Inventory of Interpersonal Problems, and Social Support Questionnaire. Variables in the model were intercorrelated, and analyses suggested mechanisms through which they were related. More severely maltreated individuals tended to be more socially avoidant and less satisfied with their social support partly because of difficulties identifying and describing …

African American Acculturation And Neuropsychological Test Performance Following Traumatic Brain Injury: An Exploratory Study., Stephan. Kennepohl Jan 2001

African American Acculturation And Neuropsychological Test Performance Following Traumatic Brain Injury: An Exploratory Study., Stephan. Kennepohl

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

The present study examined the influence of cultural factors in the assessment of African Americans (N = 45) who had suffered a traumatic brain injury (TBI). Following the administration of a neuropsychological test battery and functional outcome measures, participants completed a self-report measure of African American acculturation (African American Acculturation Scale-Short Form; Landrine & Klonoff, 1995). In the first study, hierarchical regression analyses were conducted to evaluate the possible relationship between acculturation and neuropsychological test performance. After controlling for various injury-related (TBI severity, time since injury) and demographic factors (age, sex, and education/occupation), lower levels of acculturation were associated with …

A Volumetric Evaluation Of The Thalamus In High-Functioning Individuals With Autism Using Mri., Katherine D. Tsatsanis Jan 2000

A Volumetric Evaluation Of The Thalamus In High-Functioning Individuals With Autism Using Mri., Katherine D. Tsatsanis

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

Autism is widely accepted to be a genetically based neurodevelopmental disorder. At present, however, there is no consistent evidence of a specific gene, neural pathway, or brain region abnormality to account for its expression. A variety of theoretical models have been proposed, with a particular focus on regions such as the cerebellum, hippocampus, and frontal cortex. In this study, specific consideration is given to a role for the thalamus in autism. Whereas the thalamus has traditionally been referred to as the sensory gateway to the cortex, a current perspective of this structure suggests that it is involved in multiple processes …

An Examination Of Exercise Dependence And Its Relation To Eating Pathology., Dory. Becker Jan 2000

An Examination Of Exercise Dependence And Its Relation To Eating Pathology., Dory. Becker

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

Exercise provides a number of health related benefits. However, it can be maladaptive when it becomes excessive and depended upon. The study of exercise dependence has been limited by the reliance on measures of frequency and duration, ignoring the importance of motives and withdrawal symptoms. Most research has assessed exercise dependence as a feature of eating disorders. Few have recognized that exercise dependence can be an autonomous disorder, take on many forms, and affect both men and women. The purpose of the present study was to examine exercise dependence and its relationship with eating pathology. Participants included 250 undergraduate females. …

Comparison Of The Psychosocial Typology Of Children With Below-Average Iq To That Of Children With Ld., Margaret Bridgette. Ralston Jan 2000

Comparison Of The Psychosocial Typology Of Children With Below-Average Iq To That Of Children With Ld., Margaret Bridgette. Ralston

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

This study investigates the patterns of psychosocial functioning of children with learning problems who meet other commonly used criteria to define Learning Disabilities (LD) but whose Full Scale Intelligence Quotient (FSIQ) scores on the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC) fall below average. These children are referred to as having below average IQ (BAIQ). The psychosocial functioning of children with BAIQ was subtyped by the application of both Q-factor analysis and profile-matching to scores of the Personality Inventory for Children (PIC). The resulting typologies were compared to that of previously derived prototypes of psychosocial functioning of children with LD (Rourke …
