This study explored the extent to which anti-immigrant sentiment can be predicted based on the variables of gender and perceived locus of control. In order to obtain a more representative sample, three countries (United States, Brazil, and Taiwan) were chosen for this study from the 2017-2020 World Values Survey (WVS) due to their varied geographical and racial and ethnic composition. Due to the important implications of anti-immigrant sentiment, this study sought to expand previous research, which has generally neglected to consider how locus of control and gender both may be significantly related to hostile attitudes toward immigrants. This study focuses on understanding the financial stressors female medical students face and the coping strategies they employ. This informative poster highlights a study examining the association between child separation anxiety disorder (SAD) and school achievement, considering socioeconomic status (SES) and perceived financial stress. Data came from the Early Growth and Development Study (EGDS). Data from the kindergarten (age 6) and 1^st grade (age 7) assessments in the adoptive families (N=360 adoptive triads) were analyzed.

Various factors, including gender, housing status, socioeconomic status, and disability, impact access to public restrooms in Portland, Oregon. A pilot program involving the implementation of public restrooms has caused a significant reduction in public defecation in San Francisco. This research demonstrates the efficacy of this existing working model, which could be similarly implemented in Portland with some adjustments. Portland has the Portland Loos, which are single-stall, outdoor public restrooms. Still, many are not open 24 hours. Guided by the Risk Information Seeking and Processing (RISP) model, this study explores the relationship between fear of discussing weight-related topics, or weight-related communication apprehension and weight bias internalization and tests the inconsistent RISP relationship between risk perception and information insufficiency. It investigates differences in weight-related communication apprehension in those who previously sought weight-related information from interpersonal or mediated sources. Using a survey of 64 undergraduate communication students, the study found that high levels of weight bias internalization correlated with high levels of weight-related communication apprehension. In recent years, manga has seen a surge in popularity. This research seeks to provide insights into the role of manga in U.S. bookstores and its implications for reader discovery. Through observations at bookstores in the Portland area, including Books with Pictures, Kinokuniya, Powell’s, and Barnes and Noble, it was examined how manga is presented to readers. This presentation is based on digital ethnographic fieldwork conducted in 2023 within Queer subcommunities on the social media sites Reddit and Twitter (now known as X) and data collected from interviews with Queer rural youth members of these communities. The data reveal that social media use directly influences the lives and actions of Queer rural youth, who use the space to build social connections, shape their personal identities, and seek advice pertaining to their in-person lives and decisions. This present study intends to replicate the false consensus effect, developed from Ross, Green, and House’s original study within the Journal of Experimental Psychology. We aim to better understand the role false consensus plays within real-world situations. Utilizing a questionnaire, we presented respondents with one out of four different social scenarios. We then proceeded to ask them for percentage estimates and to indicate which of the two options they’d choose. • Dual anti-platelet therapy (DAPT) is a cornerstone in management of many cardiovascular and cerebrovascular conditions; however, inappropriate and prolonged use can lead to increased bleeding risk. Despite guidelines on optimal DAPT duration for various clinical scenarios, a proportion of patients receive inappropriately extended courses of therapy, exposing them to unnecessary risk.

Introduction: This study aimed to assess the healthcare experiences of transmasculine individuals in primary and gynecological care settings. An online, anonymous survey was conducted to gather insights into positive and adverse encounters, factors influencing care-seeking behaviors, and strategies for improving care delivery in this population.

Methods: A survey was administered between June 1st and July 23rd, 2023, recruiting participants from three LGBTQ+ affirming healthcare offices in South Jersey and via Reddit. Data analysis involved SPSS to gain information from 499 valid responses.

The Ugandan parliament and President Yoweri Museveni defended the enactment of this law, arguing that homosexuality directly violates Ugandan cultural norms and Biblical doctrines. In response to this legislative action, the United States immediately condemned the law and threatened to withdraw the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), along with other forms of assistance and investments. We investigated whether stress levels differed between college student-athletes and regular students. Participants filled out background information, such as age, ethnicity, classification, and student-athlete status. They then filled out a questionnaire to obtain a raw stress score intended to evaluate stress levels. Student-athletes and regular students showed little difference in stress levels. These results indicate that, although student-athletes and regular students share different demands in their everyday lives, both are impacted equally by stress. These results may impact the treatment and attention to the prevalence of stress for all collegiate students.

The current study examined whether biological sex and learning style had an influence on a student’s academic performance. The participants were asked to take a nineteen-question survey. This survey included sixteen questions from the VARK questionnaire. Three additional questions were added asked for the participant’s age, biological sex, and grade-point average (GPA). The answers were recorded anonymously. These answers were then entered into the VARK questionnaire to determine the participant’s learning style. The results revealed no main effects or interactions. These results are important to studies of academic performance and what aspects can influence it.
