Just a few of the reasons are viruses, wasted staff time, inappropriate material stored on the network and inappropriate use of network resources. The WICHE Spam filtering solution includes monitoring and restriction of incoming and outgoing email, email attachment and storage limitations and filtering incoming email for Spam. A Prototype Industrial Maintenance Software System To Apply A Proactive Approach To Equipment Failure, Arnold Ralph Persinger Apr 2005

A Prototype Industrial Maintenance Software System To Apply A Proactive Approach To Equipment Failure, Arnold Ralph Persinger

Regis University Student Publications (comprehensive collection)

This project proposes a technical solution to create a proactive approach to industrial equipment maintenance for a large paper manufacturing facility. The traditional method for scheduling maintenance on manufacturing equipment uses a reactive approach. Reactive maintenance essentially means to perform repairs on equipment after failure has occurred; the process of these repairs begins by acquiring needed replacement part(s) utilizing a SAP (Systems Applications Products) system for authorization and ordering. Actual repairs are carried out by craftsmen based on their general knowledge of a specific trade and any previous experience concerning the failed equipment. The part(s) order through the SAP system …

The Service Learning Practicum is a document driven knowledge management system. The purpose of the Practicum is to involve MSCIT students in IT projects that support and provide solutions to non-profit organizations or non-governmental organizations (NGOs). The main documents that drive the practicum are the student application; the NGO needs statement; and the student's thesis, design, and research documents. The practicum unites graduate students with NGOs. Special Event Computerized Tracking Of Officers Reporting, Noel R. Macmahon

Regis University Student Publications (comprehensive collection)

The New York City Police Department needs a way to rapidly and accurately account for and assign personnel during a pre-planned special event. There are currently many archaic systems utilized throughout the Department, yet none of these formats utilizes a computerized system. Because there is no single off-the-shelf product currently available to perform all of the narrow tasks involved in this problem, a solution needs to be developed. The solution to this problem is developing a system that will be a single standard for the entire Department. This solution will combine various hardware devices and off-the-shelf software products into a …

Development Of A Personal Diet Plan Database Application For Persons With Severe Food Allergies, Heather Suzanne Ward Feb 2005

Development Of A Personal Diet Plan Database Application For Persons With Severe Food Allergies, Heather Suzanne Ward

Regis University Student Publications (comprehensive collection)

This project will research, analyze, design, and implement a computerized system that will assist patients in creating a personal diet plan based upon a "rotation diet." This diet, specifically designed for patients with severe food allergies, requires that a patient may only eat a particular food every n days (where n is any number), and foods from the same biological food family every n days. Currently, patients use either pen-and-paper or a computerized spreadsheet to create weekly or monthly food meal plans for the diet plan. The meal plans are usually transferred by hand to their daily or weekly shopping …

Regis University Student Publications (comprehensive collection)

This project investigates the patterns/techniques used and issues that are encountered in developing object-oriented (OO) to relational data mappings for enterprise application architectures. The research will identify the different techniques of object relational data mapping as documented by Martin Fowler in "Patterns of Enterprise Application Architecture" (text for MSCS 630). A prototype implementation will be developed using the techniques found in this research. The goal of the project is to analyze and understand Martin Fowler's patterns and other object relational mapping patterns used in industry and to recommend a set of "best practices".

Best Practices For Customer Resource Management (Crm), Richard Poirier

Regis University Student Publications (comprehensive collection)

This thesis will help to define the best practices for implementing a CRM (Customer Resource Management) system in corporate enterprises. The notion that CRM is just an Information Technology Software Application is shortsighted. CRM is a more global design incorporating vendors, supply chains, enterprises, and customers. In presenting this dissertation, I follow proven and respected processes in order to set a foundation that is necessary for a structured research framework to identify best practices in CRM systems.
