Effect Of Diluents And Freezing Temperature On The Post Thaw Of Swamp Buffalo Semen, B. Snitwong, M. Shanitwong, A. Boonkoom, V. Chanatinart, I. Abhisingha, P. Sukhato

Nineteen ejaculates were collected from each of 4 swamp buffalo bulls (Bubalus bubalis) twice a week during a period of 2 months. Split semples were extended in (1) egg yolk - Tris diluent (2) Laiciphos 478 and (3) egg yolk Citrate diluent. Diluted se- men ples were equilibrated at 4-8° c for 4-8 hrs. and packed in 0.25 ml French straws. Each sample was frozen in liquid nitrogen vapour at different temperature levels -60°c, -80°c, -100°c and -120°c for 10 minutes. การศึกษาการทํางานของต่อมธัยรอยด์ในกลุ่มโคที่ต่างพันธุ์และเพศ โดยใช้ซีรั่ม จากกลุ่มโคที่ได้จากโคล่าว Red Dane, โคล่าว Red Sindhi, โคผู้ Red Dane โคผู้ Red Sindhi, โคสาวลูกผสม RD:RS (75:25) โคสาวลูกผสม RD:RS (50:50) และ โคลูกผสม RD:RS (75:25) ที่กำลังให้นม พบว่า โคล่าว Red Sindhi มีค่า RT3U มี ระดับต่ำอย่างมีนัยสำคัญและระดับ T4 จะมากกว่าโคสาว Red dane และโคสาวลูกผสมกลุ่มอื่น ในโคเพศผู้พบว่าค่า T4 และ RT3U จะมีค่าสูงกว่าโคสาวในโคพันธุ์เดียวกัน ส่วนโคนม ลูกผสมที่กำลังให้นมพบว่าระดับ T4 จะมีค่าต่ำสุด จากผลเหล่านี้แสดงให้เห็นว่าโคที่มีต้นกำเนิด เขตหนาวและเขตร้อนเมื่ออยู่ในสภาพอากาศร้อนเดียวกันมีการเปลี่ยนแปลงสรีระสภาพของต่อมธัยรอยด์และการปรับตัวที่แตกต่างกัน

Pseudorabies In Swine : An Ultrastructural Study, Suda Riengrojgitak, Somphong Sahaphong, Boonmee Sunyasootcharee, Subkij Angsubhakorn

The Thai Journal of Veterinary Medicine

Specimens were taken from a brain of swine suspected of pseudorabies. Light microscopic examination revealed intranuclear inclusion in few cells of the brain tissue. Electron microscopic examination confirmed the diagnosis by revealing herpesvirus-like particles both enveloped and empty shell measuring 140-200 nm diameter. The findings confirm the diagnosis of pseudorabies in swine.

ผลการการสำรวจพยาธิของไก่พื้นเมืองในชนบท ซึ่งเลี้ยงแบบปล่อยให้หากินเอง ในเขตจังหวัดสกลนคร นครพนม สุรินทร์ ชัยภูมิ เพชรบูรณ์ กาญจนบุรี และนครปฐม ตรวจพบพยาธิชนิดต่าง ๆ ดังนี้ พยาธิภายนอกได้แก่ Echinophaga gallinacea 38.00%, Menopon gallinae 6.00%, Lipeurus caponis 4.00%, Megninia sp. 4.00% พยาธิในเลือดได้แก่ Leucocytozoon sabrazesi 42.86%, และพยาธิภายใน Ascaridia galli 86.05%, Oxyspirura mansoni 45.24%, Acuaria spiralis 13.95%, Heterakis gallinarum 11.63%, Tetrameres sp. 9.30%, Raillietina spp. 74.42%, Cotugnia sp. 4.65%, และ Prosthogonimus sp. 6.98% การกระจาย ของพยาธิในจังหวัดต่าง ๆ ไม่แตกต่างกันมากนัก นอกจาก L. sabrasin พบใน 3 จังหวัด เท่านั้นคือ สกลนคร นครพนม และกาญจนบุรี

The Growth-Promoting Efficacy Of Avoparcin In Growing Pigs, Somkiat Tachampa

The Thai Journal of Veterinary Medicine

Two dose levels of avoparcin in feed (10 ppm and 20 ppm) were tested for the growth promoting effects in growing pigs in comparison to 44.4 ppm tylosin. The average feed conversion rates seem to indicate that 10 ppm avoparcin is more effective than 20 ppm avoparcin and 44.4 ppm tylosin. But tylosin seem to be more effective than both avoparcin treated groups in consideration of the average daily weight gain.

Teaching General Behavior Modification Performance Skills With Written Instructions, James D. Cowart

Two experiments examined the effects of training with written instructions on trainees' use of general behavior modification performance skills. In Experiment I, the behavior modification skills of two groups of trainees were assessed in scripted roleplay sessions. Each group participated in differing numbers of baseline sessions before training was presented. Training consisted of studying a set of written rules and examples. Only after training did the trainees demonstrate improved skills. Since the "child" behaviors which were presented during roleplay sessions were all different from one another, the trainees' performance demonstrated generality of the effects of training across "child" behaviors. Recent literature indicates that clinical and counseling psychologists are trained in very different ways, work with very different populations, and perform different skills. The literature also shows this traditional exclusivity to be vanishing. Three studies were conducted to determine similarities and differences in the training, internships, and types of jobs that clinical and counseling psychologists obtain. Data for the three studies were obtained from the curricula of 7k American Psychological Association approved graduate programs, six job opening lists from the American Psychological Association Monitor, and the American Psychological Internship Centers Manual.
