Introduction The main theme of the study is to investigate the usage of social media among the student of Department of Library and Information Science.

Objectives To examines the most useable social media applications, purpose of their use and impacts of social media.

Method Structured questionnaire was distributed among 208 students through personal visits and emails.

Results The study determines that Facebook was the frequently useable application among these students. The majority of the students used social media for academic and entertainment purposes.

Conclusion The study concluded that the social media has positive impacts on the studies of the students.

The targeted population for this study will consist of all 200 level students of University of Agriculture, Makurdi 200 level students of Benue State University and 200 level students of University of Mkar, Mkar and lecturers. The main objective of the study was to investigate how social networking sites (SNS) have shaped the reading habits of the degree college students in the Srinagar district of Kashmir, J&K, (India). The main purpose of this study is to examine the effects of social media addiction on reading culture of Nigerian students in higher institutions of learning. An online survey was sent to 1500 students of higher institutions in Nigeria during the Lockdown necessitated by the outbreak of the dreaded Corona Virus (Covid-19) Pandemic. Therefore, the paper investigates the use of social media in performing library services in Nigeria. Survey research method was adopted. The sample for this study consists of 85 library personnel. Three (3) research questions and hypothesis guided the study. And structured questionnaire was used to collect data among library personnel who attended the 2019 National Conference/AGM of National Library Association in Delta State.
