In the United States over the past few years a great number of conditioning machines have been purchased by schools, clubs, hospitals and private citizens to supplement or replace barbell weight training equipment. Some reasons given for the recent popularity of the new weight training machines over the more conventional barbells are that they: provide greater safety, save time, and do the job as well or better than conventional barbells.

It was the purpose of this study to compare the percentile scores of the Metropolitan Readiness Test of first grade children in Wenatchee School District No. 246 who have had kindergarten with those first grade children in Wenatchee School District No. 246 who have not had kindergarten. The following factors were considered in this study: Chronological age, sex, and total percentile score. This data was taken from the Metropolitan Readiness Tests over a two-year period, 1966-67 and 1967-68.

Educators recognize the contributions motion picture films make in the classroom learning situation. However, the problem of determining budget expenditures necessitates a continual evaluation of the utility of specific equipment. This study was an attempt to ascertain the past and future preferences for eight millimeter and sixteen millimeter motion picture projectors. For purposes of this investigation, the following null hypothesis was used: Given a hypothetical grant, there would be no significant difference in preference for purchasing eight millimeter motion picture projectors over sixteen millimeter motion picture projectors by first-class school districts in the state of Washington.

In recent years a difference of opinion has existed regarding the effectiveness of games. Some educators believe games have many intrinsic values to facilitate learning and achievement. Others believe the competition involved from participating in games is detrimental to some student's emotional status. No sound research has been conducted in relation of games to achievement. It was the purpose of this study to identify the problems teachers encounter as they evaluate handwriting products, to determine how effectively and consistently teachers can evaluate handwriting products, to determine what methods teachers use to evaluate handwriting products and to ascertain the need for a handbook to be used by third grade teachers and students in the evaluation and corrective teaching of cursive handwriting. Special emphasis will be placed upon the consistency of evaluation by the teachers and their attitude toward the teaching of handwriting.

The purpose of this study was to determine whether or not there were differences in the basic philosophies of Seminary Teachers who were ranked highest and lowest by experienced coordinators. It also sought to determine which philosophical background was associated with the most successful teachers, and which with the least successful.
Seminary teachers of three districts were surveyed by the Ames Inventory, and each coordinator identified his ten most successful and least successful teachers. The results of the Inventory and the teacher rankings were tabulated and compared, using Chi Square analysis to determine if differences were significant.

In terms of Piaget's theory of cognitive development and the relationship he attributes between reasoning and the development of classification and seriation skills, the following questions arise: can early reasoning ability be enhanced through training? If IQ tests are accepted as measures of intellectual function, do they then contain a significant number of seriation type questions? The purpose of this study was to investigate the use of seminary home study materials within the early morning seminary classroom as a supplementary aid to the teacher, measuring changes in student's attitude, church activity, and knowledge of the New Testament.
The sample consisted of 130 students in experimental and control groups in six early morning seminary classes in the San Diego, California area during the 1968-69 school year. Six teachers participated in the study and an instrument was used as a pre and a post test to evaluate progress. The data was tabulated by an IBM computer.

The purpose of this study was to determine the counseling role of the seminary teacher. Answers to the following were sought:
1. Are there significant differences in the counseling role of the seminary teacher as seen by members of stake presidencies and bishops, and as seen by seminary teachers themselves?
2. Is there a consensus among teachers and Church leaders concerning the counseling role of the seminary teacher?
3. What is the counseling role of the seminary teacher?
The following conclusions were drawn:
