This research examined whether pediatric inpatients without an anxiety/mood disorder are more likely to receive opioids in response to pain compared to patients diagnosed with a mental health condition. Research questions were tested using cross-sectional inpatient electronic medical record data. Propensity score matching was used to match patients with a disorder with patients without the disorder (anxiety analyses: N = 2892; mood analyses: N = 1042). Although patients with anxiety and mood disorders experienced greater pain, physicians were less likely to order opioids for these patients. Seminary students have reported feeling underprepared to work with traumatized individuals in pastoral care (Logan, 2017; Resane, 2014). Statistics reported that 82% of pastoral care recipients had a trauma history (Foreman, 2018). Understanding trauma (Herman, 1992) and intersectionality (Crenshaw, 1989) were used to consider the varying impacts each can have on an individual. Scholar Fredericks Streets (2015) used the social services understanding of theology and trauma (Beh, 2012; Weems, 1988) trauma informed ministry (Wolf, et al., 2013) to develop trauma informed ministry. As the economic center of Cambodia, Phnom Penh has long been a hotspot for street-involved children and families. While violence is a common facet of life on the street, risk and vulnerability among children is notoriously difficult to measure. Most large-scale surveys tend to sample children within homes and schools, which overlook street-involved children who are commonly unregistered, irregularly attend school, and live outside of houses. This research paper is one of a series of studies on such groups in Southeast Asia. Although the adverse effect of burnout on physicians has been widely documented, studies have shown an inconsistent relationship between burnout and the quality of patient care. We hypothesized that physician burnout will have an inverse relationship with the time spent at the bedside by physicians. In a cross-sectional study, we surveyed patients on their perception of the time spent by their physician on the day of the survey (4 categories: 0–5, 6–10, 11–15, > 15 minutes). This research explores the experience of women who are vegan, and have disturbed eating behaviors (DEB) and body image distress (BID). Four participants completed a series of three art-making sessions. Participants were invited to visually explore their experience as a vegan woman with DEB/BID. They made a mixed media collage with an emphasis on layering in each session. They engaged in discussion about their process, and the final art piece’s meaning. Objective

Information about the adverse effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on adolescent and adult mental health is growing, yet the impacts on preschool children are only emerging. Importantly, environmental factors that augment or protect from the multidimensional and stressful influences of the pandemic on emotional development of young children are poorly understood.

Methods

Depressive symptoms in 169 preschool children (mean age 4.1 years) were assessed with the Preschool Feelings Checklist during a state-wide stay-at-home order in Southern California. Introduction: To determine whether the Electronic Pre-participation Physical Examination (EPPE), a proprietary and frequently used tool, is an effective method for depression and anxiety screening in the collegiate athlete population as compared to the Patient Health Questionnaire-4 (PHQ-4).

Methods: College athletes at a Division III university completed PHQ-4 questionnaires and a proprietary EPPE. Positive reponse rates to depression and/or anxiety for both questionnaires were collected and analyzed with a kappa (κ) statistic.

Results: Among 420 students, we found that 9 (2%) reported depression and/or anxiety via the EPPE. Of the 26 students (6%) who answered positively on the PHQ-4, we …

This literature review is an examination of the benefits of child life preparation in children undergoing surgery, and the significant minimization of trauma from such interventions from the framework of family-centered care. This article also explores the harmful consequences of accumulated trauma, such as not receiving appropriate interventions prior to surgery. The cultural implications surrounding family centered care serve to suggest options for adapting to the particular needs of children and families. Consideration of current research in child life services and the reported benefits to patients, families, staff, and hospitals are included.

The impact of racial and sexual minority stigma, prejudice, and discrimination on the mental health and well-being of Black and LGBTQ individuals, respectively, has been well documented in the literature. Research on these relationships for Black LGBTQ individuals who are multiply marginalized due to their position at the social intersections of gender identity, sexual orientation, and race/ethnicity is less common. Belongingness to identity-based communities can protect against the negative impact of these minority stressors for Black and LGBTQ individuals and aid coping processes. การศึกษาครั้งนี้เป็นการวิจัยเชิงพรรณนา ณ ช่วงเวลาใดช่วงเวลาหนึ่ง มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาความสอดคล้องกลมกลืน การเห็นคุณค่าในตนเอง และปัจจัยอื่นที่เกี่ยวข้องในกลุ่มผู้ใช้สารเมทแอมเฟตามีนที่เข้ารับการรักษาในสถาบันบำบัดรักษาและฟื้นฟูผู้ติดยาเสพติดแห่งชาติบรมราชชนนี (สบยช.) จังหวัดปทุมธานี โดยเก็บข้อมูลจากกลุ่มตัวอย่างจำนวน 340 คน เก็บข้อมูลระหว่างเดือน ธันวาคม 2564 ถึง เดือน กุมภาพันธ์ 2565 ผู้วิจัยใช้แบบสอบถามป็นเครื่องมือในการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูล ประกอบด้วย แบบสอบถามข้อมูลส่วนบุคคล แบบสอบถามสัมพันธภาพในครอบครัว แบบสอบถามความสอดคล้องกลมกลืน และแบบสอบถามการเห็นคุณค่าในตนเอง วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลด้วยโปรแกรม SPSS ประกอบด้วย สถิติวิเคราะห์เชิงพรรณนา ได้แก่ จำนวน ร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน ค่าต่ำสุด และค่าสูงสุด และสถิติวิเคราะห์เชิงอนุมาน ได้แก่ Chi-square, Fisher’s exact probability test, Odd ratio with Confident interval, Pearson’s correlation coefficient และ Logistic Regression ในการวิเคราะห์ความสัมพันธ์ของปัจจัยที่เกี่ยวข้อง ที่มีความสัมพันธ์กับความสอดคล้องกลมกลืนและการเห็นคุณค่าในตนเอง ผลการศึกษา ด้านสัมพันธภาพในครอบครัวของกลุ่มตัวอย่างส่วนใหญ่ พบว่า ร้อยละ 55.59 มีสัมพันธภาพในครอบครัวระดับมาก ด้านความสอดคล้องกลมกลืน ส่วนใหญ่ร้อยละ 64.12 มีความสอดคล้องกลมกลืนอยู่ในระดับค่อนข้างมาก โดยไม่พบผู้ที่มีความสอดคล้องกลมกลืนในระดับน้อยที่สุด ด้านการเห็นคุณค่าในตนเอง พบว่ากลุ่มตัวอย่างส่วนใหญ่ร้อยละ 76.47 เห็นคุณค่าในตนเองระดับปานกลาง โดยไม่พบผู้ที่เห็นค่าในตนเองระดับมากที่สุดหรือในระดับน้อยที่สุด โดยผลจากการวิเคราะห์ความสัมพันธ์แสดงให้เห็นว่าความสอดคล้องกลมกลืนในชีวิตกับการเห็นคุณค่าในตนเองมีความสัมพันธ์กันในระดับปานกลาง (r=0.657, p<0.001) ผลจากการวิเคราะห์ถดถอย พบว่า ปัจจัยที่ลดความสอดคล้องกลมกลืน ประกอบด้วย เคยใช้สารเสพติดประเภทยาไอซ์ ปัจจุบันยังคงใช้เมทแอมเฟตามีนอยู่ และการมีโรคจิตเวชร่วมที่เกิดจากสารเสพติด ส่วนปัจจัยที่เพิ่มการทำนายระดับของความสอดคล้องกลมกลืน คือ การมีสัมพันธภาพในครอบครัวระดับสูง ส่วนปัจจัยด้านการทำนายการเห็นคุณค่าในตนเองระดับสูง ประกอบด้วย การมีสัมพันธภาพในครอบครัวระดับสูง และมีการใช้สารเมทแอมเฟตามีนมาแล้วน้อยกว่า 11 ปี ผลจากการศึกษานี้จะยังผลต่อการพัฒนาและจัดกิจกรรมเพื่อส่งเสริมกลุ่มผู้ใช้สารเมทแอมเฟตามีนกับทางสถาบันฯ ต่อไป

วัตถุประสงค์: เพื่อศึกษาความวิตกกังวลเรื่องการนอนหลับ สุขอนามัยการนอน และปัจจัยที่เกี่ยวข้องกับความวิตกกังวลเรื่องการนอนหลับในผู้ป่วยโรคซึมเศร้าที่เข้ารับการรักษาแบบผู้ป่วยนอกจิตเวชศาสตร์ โรงพยาบาลจุฬาลงกรณ์ วิธีการศึกษา: เก็บข้อมูลกลุ่มตัวอย่างที่เป็นผู้ป่วยโรคซึมเศร้าที่เข้ารับการรักษาในแบบผู้ป่วยนอกแผนกจิตเวชศาสตร์ โรงพยาบาลจุฬาลงกรณ์ ที่มีอายุตั้งแต่ 18 ปีขึ้นไปและได้รับการวินิจฉัยจากจิตแพทย์หรือแพทย์ประจำบ้านแผนกจิตเวชศาสตร์ โดยใช้เกณฑ์วินิจฉัย DSM IV-TR หรือ DSM-5 ว่าเป็นโรคซึมเศร้าหลัก หรือโรคซึมเศร้าเรื้อรัง หรือโรคซึมเศร้าที่ไม่สามารถระบุได้ จำนวน 144 คน โดยใช้แบบสอบถามรวมทั้งหมด 4 ชุด ได้แก่ แบบสอบถามข้อมูลส่วนบุคคล แบบสอบถามปัจจัยเกี่ยวกับโรคซึมเศร้า แบบสอบถามปัจจัยเกี่ยวกับการนอนหลับ แบบประเมินความวิตกกังวลเรื่องการนอนหลับ จากนั้นผู้วิจัยได้บันทึกข้อมูลแบบกรอกข้อมูลทางการแพทย์ ผ่านเวชระเบียนของโรงพยาบาล ได้แก่ น้ำหนัก ส่วนสูง ประเภทของโรคซึมเศร้าที่ได้รับการวินิจฉัย ระยะเวลาที่เข้ารับการรักษา ณ โรงพยาบาลจุฬาลงกรณ์ และยาต้านเศร้าที่ได้รับ และใช้สถิติเชิงพรรณนา Mann-Whitney U Test Kruskal-Wallis Test และ Spearman’s rank correlation โดยกำหนดระดับนัยสำคัญทางสถิติไว้ที่น้อยกว่า 0.05 ผลการศึกษา: กลุ่มตัวอย่างมีค่าเฉลี่ย(ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน) ของความวิตกกังวลเรื่องการนอนหลับและสุขอนามัยการนอน เท่ากับ 56.95(26.99) และ 34.79(15.39) ตามลำดับ ค่ามัธยฐาน(ค่าพิสัยระหว่างควอไทล์) ของความวิตกกังวลเรื่องการนอนหลับและสุขอนามัยการนอน เท่ากับ 61.00 (33.5-77.8) และ 32.00 (24.0-45.0) ตามลำดับ ปัจจัยที่มีความเกี่ยวข้องกับความวิตกกังวลเรื่องการนอนหลับ ได้แก่ การปฏิบัติสุขอนามัยการนอนหลับที่ไม่ดี (p<0.01) ระยะเวลาเข้าสู่ภาวะหลับที่นานกว่าปกติ (p<0.001) อาการรบกวนขณะหลับ(p<0.001) อาการง่วงหลับระหว่างวัน (p<0.001) ประสิทธิภาพการนอนหลับต่ำ (p<0.001) การคงอยู่ของอาการโรคซึมเศร้า(p<0.001) และปริมาณการนอนหลับที่ได้รับ (p<0.001) สรุปผลการศึกษา: ความวิตกกังวลเรื่องการนอนหลับในผู้ป่วยโรคซึมเศร้ามีความเกี่ยวข้องกับสุขอนามัยการนอนหลับที่ปฏิบัติ ซึ่งการให้ความรู้ด้านสุขอนามัยการนอนสามารถส่งเสริมคุณภาพการนอนหลับ และผ่อนคลายความวิตกกังวลเรื่องการนอนได้ อันจะส่งผลดีต่อการรักษาโรคซึมเศร้า
