The opioid epidemic is a public health concern that impacts thousands of individuals across the United States. There was a lack of clear understanding of what leads opioid addicts to decline use of medication-assisted treatment (MAT) with injectable extended release naltrexone (XR-NTX). The purpose of this quantitative cross-sectional correlational study was to examine the relationships between past XR-NTX status and demographic factors (gender, age, race, education level, time sober in days, and employment status) and the attitudes about encouragement from providers about engaging in MAT, as well as perceptions about MAT in individuals currently in a MAT who chose not …

School social workers play an instrumental role in providing school faculty members with skills and interventions to facilitate positive outcomes in both schools and the community at large. When a child has autism spectrum disorder (ASD), the family structure is affected. Although researchers have documented increased stress and depression among parents of children with ASD, they have not adequately explored siblings’ perspectives on the emotional, physical, and/or psychological implications of having a brother or sister with ASD. The purpose of this qualitative phenomenological study was to explore siblings’ lived experiences of growing up in a household with a sibling with ASD.
