Psephology is the statistical study of election data, often used by data journalists and political operatives to predict the results of elections before they occur. In a Canadian context, this new field of data science has been notably used by CBC and Maclean's to create prediction models for federal and provincial elections.

This project created one such model to predict the 2022 Ontario General Election. It ran under the conventional Uniform Swing method with regional poll averages from CBC News used as inputs.

This thesis seeks to determine which international relations theory best explains the United States involvement in the Arab Spring, and to ascertain if the goals set by those theories were met. Through the literature, I determine that two theories offer reasonable yet competing explanations of US involvement, and that these theories are first, defensive realism, and second, democratic peace theory. I employ the analytic method of pattern matching to compare each theory against the empirical record. Expansive research exists on the topic of American citizens’ participation and behavior related to voting in federal elections. It is clear that multiple variables influence a citizen’s choice to vote and the political direction of that vote. However, there remains room for analyzing American electoral participation since politics and presidential decisions are increasingly shaping daily life activities. In this paper, I critically analyze the dependent variables of whether or not American respondents voted in the 2012 federal election, and if so how they voted for the presidential candidate. This presentation is based on a book project providing an interdisciplinary introduction to the topic of prostitution. Allora Dubay will present on the political context in which prostitution takes place. She will discuss prominent feminist theories regarding prostitution and how those theories influence public policy in the United States and Europe. In doing so, she will explain how policies vary between national governments and among subnational governments.
