Exploring The Link Between School Discipline And Restoring Relationships Using Restorative Conferences!, Derrick C. Bailey, Julia Bullock
National Youth Advocacy and Resilience Conference
Participants will be able to identify the link between effective restorative conferences and school discipline. They will learn strategies that are effective for reactive and proactive conferences. Participants will analyze scenarios of actual conferences and prepare a list of things to avoid. Participants will learn how to use data to assess the effectiveness of their conferences and adjustments that may need to be made.

How Risk-Related Statistics, As Reported In News And Social Media, Are Linked To The Use Of The Public Transit System, Prashiddhi Pokhrel
Thinking Matters Symposium
Due to the pandemic, people have started relying more on televisions, news, social media, and other news outlets for guidance. Moreover, with the increasing amount of news, data, and information there is also an increase in the amount of misleading statistics. People’s opinions and decisions significantly depend on the data, statistics, and information that they are exposed to, as well as their sources. For this project, we want to look at how information and its sources are affecting the decision made by the general public for the usage of the Portland Transit System. Navigating Wms Analytics For The Right Data, Laura Edwards, Todd King, Kelly Smith
EKU Faculty and Staff Scholarship
The presenters shared lessons learned from using OCLC WorldShare Management System (WMS) Analytics to gather statistics and data for both internal and external reporting purposes. Existing WMS reporting functionality simplifies special projects such as inventories and clean-up initiatives. However, both Collection Evaluation and Report Designer have limitations that make getting accurate collections numbers difficult due to gaps in the available data.

Data Management And The Ir: A Collaborative Approach, Josh Cromwell
Data Management And The Ir: A Collaborative Approach, Josh Cromwell
Digital Commons Southeastern User Group 2016
As researchers seek to find ways to manage and openly share their data in compliance with grant requirements, many libraries have developed new services to support these researchers. In this session, we will discuss some of the different strategies that libraries are using to support data management, as well as the role that the IR may (or may not) play in these programs. While there is certainly not a one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to library-led data initiatives, this conversation will allow participants to share ideas and workflows that will hopefully provide all attendees with new concepts to apply either …
