Attitudes Toward Institutional Features And Savings In Individual Development Accounts: Latent Class Analysis, Chang-Keun Han, Michael Sherraden

This exploratory study focuses on classifying attitudes toward institutional features of Individual Development Accounts (IDAs). This study also examines to what extent the attitudes change and how they are associated with savings in IDAs. While attitudes toward IDAs are generally positive, latent class analysis (LCA) found 3 groups, “highly positive," “moderately positive,” and “mixed opinion.” Race is significantly associated with the classification. This study found dynamic changes in attitudes at 18 months and 48 months after the baseline interview. While attitudes became somewhat more positive for 18% of participants, they became more negative for 26%. It was also found that …

Performing Tourism In Venice: Local Residents In Focus, Bernadette Quinn

In contrast to the growing literature on tourist mobility as a performed art, relatively little attention has been paid to resident mobility in tourism places. This paper examines how residents encounter tourists using the concept of tourism as a performance. Drawing on the case of the historic city-center of Venice in northeastern Italy, it explores the spatialities produced through the embodied practices of local mobilities. The paper finds that their movements demonstrated a marked degree of agency. Individual Moral Development And Ethical Climate: The Influence Of Person-Organization Fit On Job Attitudes, Maureen L. Ambrose, Anke Arnaud, Marshall Schminke

This research examines how the fit between employees’ moral development and the ethical work climate of their organization affects employee attitudes. Person–organization fit was assessed by matching individuals’ level of cognitive moral development with the ethical climate of their organization. The influence of P–O fit on employee attitudes was assessed using a sample of 304 individuals from 73 organizations. In general, the findings support our predictions that fit between personal and organizational ethics is related to higher levels of commitment and job satisfaction and lower levels of turnover intent. In Somalia, there is an identified need to undertake a mine risk education program. Although the quantitative number of landmines and UXO has been reliably established since the Landmine Impact Survey conducted in 2003, it is clear that communities living in particular areas of Somalia have a high perception of living in a mined area.
