Air Pollution By Motorcycles In Big Cities: The Case Of Bangkok, Canyu Liang

Bangkok is an international metropolis and the capital of Thailand. In recent years, the problem of air pollution in Thailand has become more and more serious. This paper aims to explore the reason why Thailand suffered from haze problem, which it has not before and explore how motorcycles affect air pollution. And to show the main sources of pollution, analyze why motorcycle plays an important role when we want to protect the environment. The methodology to analyze these issues is to use questionnaires to get the attitudes of people in Bangkok.

The study lays a foundation for understanding gender and sexuality within a Thai sociocultural, political, and economic context and goes on to elaborate how Thai boys' love drama series productions are built upon the foundation of their Japanese and Chinese predecessors. An analysis of the evolution of boys' love drama series within Thailand will be conducted from the years 2014 to 2018, utilizing the Uses and Gratification Theory as well as the Media System Dependency Theory in order to rationalize growth and success of the genre. Ethnic Chinese people have actively participated in Thailand's economic activities throughout history. In the early 20th century, the ethnic Chinese family groups burrowed into the power-base of the economy - the banking industry in Thailand. The purpose of this study is to investigate the role of ethnic Chinese and their business strategy in Thailand’s banking sector development during the formative years of the banking industry. This study finds that ethnic Chinese attempted to establish commercial banks in Thailand before WWII but failed in competition with European capitals, while the European-owned banks could not succeed without hiring Chinese compradors to bridge …

This thesis examines biennial art festivals in Thailand, namely Bangkok Art Biennale 2018, Bangkok Biennial and Thailand Biennale. Each festival had a different type of biennial respectively and all represented the first biennial in Thailand. The biennial art festival can be traced back to the world fairs and grand tours in Europe. In the 19th century, Siamese elite conducted a grand tour to Europe and participated in world fairs. This paper focuses on the development process of Bangkok involving its transformation into a road-based city and eventually the ‘real center’ of Siam during 1782-1910. Even though its development into a road-based city was not directly related to its transformation into the real center of the kingdom, this important change significantly enhanced its power-center status.
