Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) perbedaan pengaruh antara metode drill dan metode strokes terhadap keterampilan bermain bulutangkis atlet tingkat pemula, (2) perbedaan pening-katan keterampilan bermain bulutangkis antar atlet yang memiliki kelincahan tinggi dan kelincahan rendah, (3) interaksi antara metode latihan dan kelincahan terhadap keterampilan bermain bulutangkis atlet tingkat pemula. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan rancangan faktorial 2x2. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah atletklub PB. Manunggal, PB. Natura dan PB. Surya Mataram yang berjumlah 46 atlet. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan model tes kebugaran jasmani untuk anak usia dini (4-6 tahun) yang valid dan reliabel, yang terdiri dari kekuatan otot, ketahanan otot, daya tahan aerobik, dan fleksibilitas. Penelitian ini merupakan research and development dengan pendekatan survei melalui tes pengukuran. Penelitian ini diawali dengan pembuatan draf model, validasi model oleh para ahli. Tahap selanjutnya adalah uji coba skala kecil terhadap 10 siswa dan uji coba skala besar terhadap 20 siswa. Uji coba skala kecil dilakukan di satu Taman Kanak-kanak (TK). Every few years I like to take inventory of the Bowl Games. Each football season concludes with these loss leaders for intercollegiate football teams. Almost without exception teams who have been honored with an invitation to a bowl game will lose money with the cost of bowling exceeding the payouts for bowlers. The theory is that the exposure is worth more than real budgetary dollars.

The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) recently passed new legislation highlighting the critical role coaches play in student-athlete success called the Head Coach’s Academic Progress Rate (APR). The APR measure does not calculate the actions of the head coach and is therefore an inadequate measure of coaches’ influence. There are numerous verbal accounts of the influence of the coach on student-athlete success, but there is little quantitative data to support this claim. This research looked at attendance capacity for traditional and non-traditional hockey markets. The aim was to attempt to determine the extent the attendance capacities differed between the two markets. Previously, there had not been any quantitative analyses done comparing traditional and non-traditional hockey markets so this study aimed to add new knowledge to that area. The National Hockey League (NHL) grapples with the validity of some of the current markets, with many observers calling for some teams to relocate to new markets. This research aimed to attempt to determine how justified those criticisms were.

As female athletes gain more recognition in the sports world, researchers continuously debate on whether the reason behind this is due to their athletic performance or their hyper sexualized appearance in media outlets such as print advertisements (Fink, Cunningham, & Kensicki, 2004). This raises the question on how consumers interpret advertisements that contain female athletes promoting both sport and non-sport products. In the 1950s, the Caribbean island of Cuba underwent a series of emphatic and revolutionary changes, culminating in Fidel Castro's regime coming to power in early 1959. A year later, relations between the Cuban government and their American counterpart had deteriorated rapidly to the point of rhetoric, economic sanctions, and covert military actions. Yet, both nations laid claim to the same national pastime: the sport of baseball. Since the 1860s, America's game of choice had been played passionately by Cubans, helping facilitate their social assimilation into the U.S. economic sphere. Introduction

Sports that involve extensive personal contact have a high incidence of injury. The introduction of regulations mandating the use of personal protective equipment in these sports is the most common injury control strategy (Marshall et al., 2002). Negligible attention has been paid to the mechanical linkage between the facemask and helmet as a means of reducing force transfer from the facemask, through the helmet, and to the head and or neck of the athlete.

How surprising was it when the arbitrator in the Ray Rice case ruled that Roger Goodell had acted “arbitrary in his discretion,” and had punished Rice twice for the same offense? In addition when Goodell claimed that Ray Rice misled him about the severity of the incident, the arbitrator found otherwise. Goodell was fully apprised by Rice as to the severity of the incident.
