It is perhaps useful to call attention to the work of Henri Ramirez, one of the most active linguists in Amazonia, since his publications have remained somewhat obscure, especially for those living outside of South America. This rather unusual scholar essentially only publishes books (18 monographs to date, including practical works for the native population), not articles, and rarely attends conferences. His principal published works are being reviewed in UAL to make them more known to the linguistic community.
