A Study In The Classification, Distribution, And Sequence Of The Archaeological Cultures Of Missouri, Carl Haley Chapman
A Study In The Classification, Distribution, And Sequence Of The Archaeological Cultures Of Missouri, Carl Haley Chapman
Anthropology ETDs
The orderly arrangement of the archeological cultures of Missouri, showing areal and temporal relationships, appears to be one of the major problems in that state at the present time. It is proposed to undertake a classification of the known archeological cultures by means of the McKern Taxonomic System, to point out the known distribution of each culture within the state, and to undertake a tentative sequence of the classified cultures by means of evidence found in Missouri and in surrounding areas.
