ABSTRACT
Social networking sites play a dynamic role in this information overloaded scenario. Social networking sites are major tools of inspiration to teaching, learning and research in Higher Educational Academic Institutions. The present investigation made an attempt to study the perception of faculty regarding the usefulness of Social Networking Tools. This study has been done among the selected 672 faculty members in 15 Christian colleges in the Kottayam District, Kerala. The landslide is one of the natural disasters that poses a serious threat in the Kersaratu Village, Sidamulih District, Pangandaran Regency, therefore a serious disaster relief is needed. Abstract
This paper conceptualizes literacy and learning as a continuum that requires appropriate placement, attitude and adjustment that should be initiated and instilled from elementary stage of learning with emphasis on the role of the school librarians. Base on the overview obtained from scholarly publications, a relationship among information literacy, lifelong learning and school librarian was established and reviewed. The paper reviewed the integral role of public libraries in promoting youth participation in agriculture, information serving as a key driver. The population of youths in Nigeria estimated to be about 70 million establishes the need for this study, noting their relevance to economic growth and development of the agricultural sector. It is observed from the study that books and subscribed online legal databases are the main source of information to them and it is necessary to help and guide the students in using the library resources and services to meet their information requirement. This research work took a critical look at the information environment of Theatre and Media Arts Students of Federal University of Oye-Ekiti Ekit State. The study adopted was descriptive survey. The population was drawn from the undergraduate of Theatre and Media Arts with a population of 200. The study used the whole population as its sample size. This study investigates the factors and challenges affecting the information-seeking behavior of multidisciplinary science and technology researchers of the six departments of the Federal Institute of Industrial Research Oshodi (FIIRO) in Nigeria. This study depicts a non-academic setting and by extension the African context. One hundred and sixty five researchers were given questionnaires of which responses of 114 questionnaires were finally analyzed. Based on the questionnaire results, the respondents provided suggestions on how certain factors and challenges have influenced their information-seeking behavior. The information seeking behaviour of Library users among children was studied based on the objectives of study a questionnaire was set and imparted among randomly selected children respondents. The study was limited to only five districts of Southern Tamil Nadu. The Study areas of five districts were selected based on the bilateral study from earlier research work done. Food labels legislated by the U.S. government have been designed to provide information to consumers. It has been asserted that the simple disclosures “produced using genetic engineering” on newly legislated U.S. food labels will send a signal that influences individual preferences rather than providing information. Vermont is the only US state to have experienced mandatory labeling of foods produced using genetic engineering (GE) via simple disclosures. Using a representative sample of adults who experienced Vermont’s mandatory GE labeling policy, we examined whether GE labels were seen by consumers and whether the labels provided information or influenced preferences.
