Relationship Between Annual Average Concentration Of Ambient Pm10 And Out-Patients With Respiratory Disease: Thailand Case Study, Thoucha Rummasak Jan 2019

Relationship Between Annual Average Concentration Of Ambient Pm10 And Out-Patients With Respiratory Disease: Thailand Case Study, Thoucha Rummasak

Applied Environmental Research

The objectives of this research were to identify (1) correlation between annual average concentration of ambient PM10 and prevalence of out-patients with respiratory diseases; (2) the relative risk and attributable proportion of out-patients with respiratory disease due to long-term exposure to ambient PM10; and (3) the correlation between annual average concentration ofambient PM10 and the relative risk of out-patients with respiratory disease. Time-series data of annual average concentration of ambient PM10 and prevalence rate of out-patients with respiratory disease during an 11- year period (2004-2014) in the study area were obtained from the Pollution Control Department, Ministry of Natural Resources …

Pm10 And Pm2.5 From Haze Smog And Visibility Effect In Chiang Mai Province Thailand, Thitaporn Jeensorn, Pornphan Apichartwiwat, Wanida Jinsart Sep 2018

Pm10 And Pm2.5 From Haze Smog And Visibility Effect In Chiang Mai Province Thailand, Thitaporn Jeensorn, Pornphan Apichartwiwat, Wanida Jinsart

Applied Environmental Research

Air pollution from haze smog in Chiang Mai Thailand has become a serious problem, with fine particulate matter (FPM), PM10and PM2.5, as the main culprits. These pollutants haveserious effects on health and affect visibility in transportation and tourism. In this study, reduction in visibility was monitored using a digital camera, video records and aerial photography. Visibility in Chiang Mai was analyzed using qualitative and quantitative methods. Visibility was directly measured by GPS and Google Earth mapping. Visibility reduction from haze events was also compared by image analysis in Deciview units. Fine particulate matter concentrations and frequency of fires in Chiang …

Visualization And Interpretation Of Pm10 Monitoring Data Related To Causes Of Haze Episodes In Northern Thailand, Sirapong Sooktawee, Usa Humphries, Aduldech Patpai, Rungrawee Kongsong, Suteera Boonyapitak, Nirun Piemyai May 2015

Visualization And Interpretation Of Pm10 Monitoring Data Related To Causes Of Haze Episodes In Northern Thailand, Sirapong Sooktawee, Usa Humphries, Aduldech Patpai, Rungrawee Kongsong, Suteera Boonyapitak, Nirun Piemyai

Applied Environmental Research

Monitoring of ambient air quality yields data typically presented as time series plots, tables of summarized statistical values, or other representations. This paper presents an alternative way to visualizing air quality monitoring data by presenting concentrations in the form of a calendar, offering a familiar way for reader to identify air quality trends on various time scales(daily, weekly, or monthly). One of the major air pollution problems in the northern part of Thailand is haze, which is related tothe concentration of airborne particulates less than 10 microns in size (PM10). This paper presents calendars of PM10 concentrations monitored by the …
