The purpose of the research is to evaluate an intervention within a new model of family support being delivered in Cork City, on addressing child and family homelessness. This new model is being delivered for the first time in Ireland during ‘Youth Club’ and strives to act as an intervention to assist children experiencing homelessness. The model was first developed by Tusla Springboard Child and Family service and Good Shepherd Services Cork in 2016 in response to the alarming rise in child and family homelessness in Cork city, and the resulting impact of same. An Analysis On The Effects Of Social Context In The Display Of Anger In Children, Angie Vanmeter

The purpose of t his research is to determine if social context influences a child's decision to regulate their anger. The subjects used in this study were 20 first, third and sixth grade students totaling sixty children. The categories of social context are as follows: parent, peer and alone. The subjects completed a demographic survey, as well as an aggression questionnaire, designed by the researcher. The results confirmed previous research with regard to the influence social acceptance has over children's actions. This research indicates peers, as being the most influential category in determining a child's response to anger.

Intimacy In Marriage: A Comparison Between Married Men With Children And Married Men Without Children, Kurt D. Soell

This investigation explored the differences in perceptions of levels of intimacy in their marriage between married men with children and married men without children. Participants completed the Intimacy Scale (IS). Levels of intimacy were compared between both groups using a two-tailed independent T-test. The results showed that married men with children showed significantly lower levels of intimacy than married men without children. This study will review definitions of intimacy, marital satisfaction, the development of intimacy, how to improve on intimacy, how to experience intimacy within marriage, and how intimacy is related to the transition to parenthood.

The factors which influence the development of attachment between mothers and children were examined in this study. The researcher specifically looked at the differences in attachment with regard to the mother's work status during infancy. Thirty-five adolescent subjects completed the Inventory of Parent and Peer Attachment test (lPPA). The subjects were categorized into four groups based on what their mothers' work status was during their infancy. The information regarding work status was obtained through a demographic sheet completed by the parents of the subjects.

The relationship between Type A Behavior pattern in elementary children and their self esteem was examined using 68 students. The participants were third, fourth and fifth graders in the Montgomery County School District in central Missouri, who completed the Coopersmith Self Esteem Inventory (School Form). ln addition these students were also assessed for Type A behavior pattern by their teachers using the Matthew's Youth Test for Health. Correlational results indicated that there was no relationship between a child's Type A behavior pattern and self esteem.

The relationship between children's self-esteem and family environment was examined. In addition, self-esteem scores were compared to family type (intact vs. non-intact) . Male and female students were obtained from a non-random sample in the Midwest. There were 51 participants, 36 were girls and 14 were boys. The subjects were given the Coopersmith Self -Esteem Inventory and the Children's Version of the Family Environment Scale. Their parents were given a demographic survey to complete . The purpose of this study was to examine responses on the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) between depressed women with a self-reported history of Childhood Sexual Abuse (CSA) and depressed women who did not report such a history. The question to be studied was whether the responses on the BDI would generally be the same regardless of the client's abuse history. Forty women seeking treatment for depression at a Midwestern counseling center served as subjects for this study. The differences in the effect of divorce on children were examined. The researcher specifically looked at the difference in the two variables of age and gender to determine if parental divorce had more of an impact on one sex than the other, and/or on a child of one age group compared to a child of a different age group. Seventy-nine divorced, un-remarried mothers completed a forty-two item questionnaire which assessed if the parental divorce impacted the child and if so in what manner. A review of the literature suggests a relationship between child sexual abuse and the development of eating disorders in female subjects . Additionally, body image dissatisfaction and distortion are well documented among eating disordered individuals and women in general. This study found a relationship between body image dissatisfaction and some eating disordered behaviors . Women who are in out-patient therapy for treatment of child sexual abuse were surveyed. Secretiveness about the sexual abuse at the time of the abuse was compared to both body image dissatisfaction and eating disorder attitudes and behaviors .
