Objective- The main objective of the study is to investigate the assessment of social media use on study habits among nursing students in Babcock University ilishan-Remo, Ogun State, Nigeria. Methods- The study adopted survey research design. Structured questionnaire was used to collect data. Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) was used to analysis. Specifically, data collected were analyzed using charts, graphs, percentages and frequency were used to answer the research questions. The main purpose of this study is to examine the effects of social media addiction on reading culture of Nigerian students in higher institutions of learning. An online survey was sent to 1500 students of higher institutions in Nigeria during the Lockdown necessitated by the outbreak of the dreaded Corona Virus (Covid-19) Pandemic. A total of 1300 questionnaires were completed and returned. This implies 86.7% return rate. Data was analyzed using graphical charts. Libraries have been under closure due to lockdown enforced as a measure to tackle COVID-19. This study has been conducted with an aim to investigate the status of the University Libraries of Assam in providing library services through Social Media during lockdown. Structured questionnaire were sent to the University Librarians of 4 Universities of Assam ranked amongst top 100 universities of India in the India Rankings, 2019 by NIRF (National Institutional Ranking Framework).
