The present study is focused on examining the application of Bradford’s law of scattering on research articles published in the field of Astronomy & Astrophysics by Indian scientist during 1988-2017. The bibliographic data was retrieved from Web of Science (WoS) bibliographic data base for different period of time. Total 18,877 journal’s article have been published by Indian scientist in the field of Astronomy & Astrophysics during 1988-2017 which was further retrieved and analyzed separately for different blocks of 10 years as well as for 30 years consolidated too. Google Scholar (GS) is the only available global database for the citation analysis of Indian LIS journals. The present study is an attempt to highlight the citation output of research articles in DESIDOC Journal of Library and Information Technology (DJLIT) published during the period 2006–2015. This study is based on Google Scholar data. Descriptive and inferential statistical techniques were applied in the study. 406 articles were published during 2006–2015, which were cited 4122 times in Google Scholar. Based on Google Scholar, this study proves that the citation output of articles published in the DJLIT differs significantly with their publication year. …

This study provides an overview of the Library and Information Science (LIS) research from 1980 through 2017. We employ bibliometric and text mining analyses on a sample of 500 most cited articles to examine the impact of factors such as number of authors, enhanced institutions, document types and keywords on the number of citations that they received. We also investigate major trends in LIS research literature including contribution of different countries, variations across publication years and identifying active research areas and major journal outlets. The objective of the paper is to find out the flow of the New York Times newspaper information in scholarly publication during 2001-2010. New York Times is considered for the present study since it is the most highly cited English newspaper indexed in Web of Science. During the study period there were 13600 records with 14764 citations in different scholarly publications. The citation of the New York Times in scholarly publications increased gradually from 2005 onwards. Scientometrics is an important field of information science as it represents a unique set of techniques and tools for the monitoring and analysis of information resources and for the management of knowledge in social and organizational contexts. This article analysed the various Scientometric components of the articles published by top six universities of Tamil Nadu from 2000-2017. The study identifies research trend, characteristics growth and collaboration pattern of published literature. The analysis of data reveals that the average growth rate increases at the rate of 9.76%. Further, the average citation per paper observed is 12.18%. High degree of international collaboration …

Citation Analysis Of Doctoral Students Dissertations Of Philippine Women's University School Of Education: Tool For Collection Development, Carmina G. Joson

The study analyzed the citations used by doctoral students of PWU School of Education in their dissertations that were completed from Academic Year 2007 to 2017. The study utilized bibliometrics research design for the 86 doctoral dissertations that generated 6,230 citations. Said citations were used to determine the referencing behavior of PWU School of Education doctoral students in terms of publication age, format, type, authorship, origin and the availability of cited materials.
