This paper determines the materials cited in Ph.D. theses of Sociology, submitted to the Panjab University, Chandigarh during the years 2002-2012 to improve the existing collection development policy of University library. The study reveals that Books are the most preferred sources of information used by the researchers in the field of Sociology, accounting for 57.65% of the total citations, although citations from journals, proceedings, internet resources and reports are also found. This study evaluates the Nephrology research output during 2007-2016. The data were downloaded from web of science database which was maintained by Thomson Reuters. Total numbers of records were 4655 with 47, 384 citations and average citations per article was 10.05. Nephrology is the adult and pediatric study of the kidneys and its related diseases. The nephrologists deals with the diagnosis and management of kidney diseases. The kidneys are vital for maintaining normal fluid and electrolyte balance in a body. Paper analyses research output of the journal IJIDT using bibliometric approach for five years from 2011 to 2015. The journal publishes 259 research papers during the study period and published papers were examined and analyzed for distribution of articles, authorship pattern, degree of collaboration, and geographical distribution of articles etc. Conclusions have been drawn from the analysis and found that two authorship patterns is prevalent with 0.63 Degree of Collaboration, India as top most contributor of the articles for the journal and amongst foreign countries Saudi Arabia is the highest contributor. During 1960-2000, Chemistry and Physics department of the University of Burdwan, produced 141 awarded Chemistry theses, 979 published Chemistry thesis articles and 67 awarded Physics theses, 610 published Physics thesis articles. The paper examines 140375 global publications on world mobile research, as covered in Scopus database during 2007-16. The field of world mobile research witnessed an annual average growth rate of 1.68%. The top 20 most productive countries individually contributed global share from 1.14% to 20.52%, with largest global publication share coming from China (20.52%), followed by USA (17.09%), etc. Together, the top 20 most productive countries accounted for 95.05% of global publication output during 2007-16. Objective - This paper investigated the intellectual structure of the cited journals by science doctoral students in the University of Ibadan, Nigeria through field-mapping mechanism namely co-citation analysis. The study also explored the relationship and its strength between the science disciplines in terms of journals that were co-referenced through bibliographic coupling analysis. The deployment of bibliographic coupling techniques with co-citation analysis was adopted to model the pattern of scientific communications among scientists and scholarly journals.
