The study investigated registration status, reading interest level, and library use habits of teaching staff in Akwa Ibom State University, Nigeria. The study adopted survey research design, with a total population of 467 teaching staff from eight (8) academic faculties. Out of the total study population, a sample of 212 was selected using an online sample calculator known as Survey Monkey Sample Size Calculator at 95% confidence level and confidence interval of 5%. The instrument used for data collection was a researcher-developed questionnaire, which was subjected to face and content validity and reliability coefficient of 0.80 using Cronbach’s Alpha technique. …

Attitudes Of Undergraduate Students Toward The Utilization Of Multimedia Resources In University Of Ibadan, Mojisola Omowumi Odewole

This study investigated attitudes of undergraduate students toward the utilization of multimedia resources in University of Ilorin. Descriptive survey was adopted and a sample of 392 undergraduate students were randomly selected across the fifteen faculties in University of Ilorin by using multi-stage random sampling technique. A questionnaire was used to collect data from 392 selected sample, out of which 376 copies of the questionnaire were completely filled and returned. The present study highlights the roles of public libraries in the socio-economic development of rural areas in the digital age with special reference to the Government District Library- Ahwa. A total no. of 60 questionnaires were distributed to a library, using a survey to collect data. Out of which 45 users gave their responses. The study found that all respondents indicated that they were using the public library for reading purposes. Followed by 75.56% respondents to prepare competitive exams, 71.11% to improve general knowledge, and very few users using the library for other purposes. The majority 53.33% of users had …

PURPOSE: The paper examined the effect of library skills and literacy on the academic performance of undergraduate students at Kwara State University, Nigeria.

DESIGN/METHODOLOGY: A descriptive survey method and random sampling techniques were used with 150 randomly selected students for the research. A self-designed questionnaire was used to elicit responses from the respondents, and a simple percentage ratio was adapted for data analysis.

The motivation for the study was prompted by the incessant low political participation in democracies including Nigeria. This paper investigated user satisfaction as a predictor to library patronage among undergraduate students in Federal University Oye-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria. The instrument used was a self-developed questionnaire by the researchers. The questionnaire validation was subjected to the scrutiny of the experts in the areas of the variables studied; it gave a reliability coefficient of 0.855 (85.5%) for library patronage and 0.837 (83.7%) for user satisfaction. A response rate of 100% was achieved. Data were analyzed using descriptive (percentage, mean, average mean and standard deviation) and inferential (Pearson Product Moment Correlation) statistics. Survey research methodology was used with a total sample size of 202 library personnel in University of Abuja library using simple random sampling techniques. The study used a questionnaire to investigate four Medical Deemed University Libraries of Maharashtra. This study examines digital resource utilization, purpose, frequency, locality, and preference. The study indicated that Maharashtra Medical Deemed University Libraries users were moderately aware of digital medical resources and used them mainly for the education, Learning, and knowledge updating.
