Carrie Eldridge is a genealogical researcher in Chesapeake, Ohio. This collection contains photocopies of many county record books of the Appalachian areas of West Virginia, Virginia, Ohio, and Kentucky, ranging from the American Revolution until the end of the Civil War. The collection also contains high quality photographs of one room school houses of Cabell County, West Virginia, an audio cassette oral history, books, and pen nibs.

Doris Copley Miller was a Huntington, West Virginia poet, newspaperwoman, and local historian. Papers include her work in draft and printed form and correspondence, notably the Jesse Stuart letters. It also contains poetry submissions from other friends and the public as well as working files from her years as religion, education and poetry editor at the Huntington Publishing Company. In addition to her newspaper columns, she also conducted genealogical research.

Owen Clinic Institute in Huntington, West Virginia was a mental health facility operated by Dr. Stemmerman and Dr. Thelma V. Owen. Collection contains 14 volumes of `Longview,' a newsletter written by patients 1948-1962. Three scrapbooks relate to the West Virginia Mental Health Association and its efforts to improve care for mental health patients in the state.
