This collection contains the personal, educational, and professional possessions of Mildred Mitchell-Bateman. The materials document Bateman’s various roles within local, state, and national psychology and psychiatric organizations. The collection consists primarily of newspaper articles, biographical sketches, and historical summaries of Mr. Roger's career in the television industry and the Federal Reserve Board. The bulk of the materials are related to his time as the General Manager of the WSAZ-TV station in Huntington, West Virginia and as the President of Taft Broadcasting Company in Cincinnati, Ohio. The collection contains some correspondence, both personal and business related. The collection is organized into two series; Series I, Personal Papers and, Series II, WSAZ-TV.

Carrie Eldridge is a genealogical researcher in Chesapeake, Ohio. This collection contains photocopies of many county record books of the Appalachian areas of West Virginia, Virginia, Ohio, and Kentucky, ranging from the American Revolution until the end of the Civil War. The collection also contains high quality photographs of one room school houses of Cabell County, West Virginia, an audio cassette oral history, books, and pen nibs.

This collection is composed of letters written daily, sometimes multiple times a day, from Beecher Ray Burnett to his wife Anita between September 3 and October 5, 1943 from Burnett while he was being trained as part of the 47th Army Air Force Training Detachment in Huntington and other cities in West Virginia. Topics mentioned in the letter include what he was learning and doing in training, social events, and personal matters.

Doris Copley Miller was a Huntington, West Virginia poet, newspaperwoman, and local historian. Papers include her work in draft and printed form and correspondence, notably the Jesse Stuart letters. It also contains poetry submissions from other friends and the public as well as working files from her years as religion, education and poetry editor at the Huntington Publishing Company. In addition to her newspaper columns, she also conducted genealogical research.

The collection contains primarily genealogical notes on the Burnside, and Fulton families. The Burnside family especially is the largest series in the collection and takes up more than half the size. Ms. Reynolds researched and collected prominent documents of members of the Burnside family including a diary, newspaper clippings, articles, and books. Ms. Reynolds also collected an extensive amount of records of her ancestors including census records, war records, and records from the families’ origins in Great Britain. The ledger is blank with the exception of three pages containing the previously mentioned information. Also included is a proof sheet of newspaper from the Beckley Post-Herald from November 1, 1960.

A note in the collection states that the volume was found in the Okey P. Keadle Papers at an unstated location.

This collection consists of scripts for five WPBY programs. Each program is divided into tapes. Program one is composed of three tapes, while programs two through four are composed of two, and program five is composed of three. These tapes are transcripts of televised conversations with Jim Comstock in 1980, where Comstock speaks with the host “Dick” about subjects relevant to West Virginia, including poetry, politics, his lived experiences, and history.
