Information on the Future Homemakers of America at the national, state, and local level was studied and compiled, such as publications, scrapbooks, personal material, and other records.

It was found that the Utah organization of the Future Homemakers of America has followed the nationally outlined program for projects, activities, and meetings. The projects worked on within the state seem to have supported the eight stated purposes of the Future Homemakers.

It was shown that Future Home makers representing Utah have attended all of the national meetings for the past twenty-five years. Utah has contributed only five national officers. Student officers …

Changing Patterns Of Juvenile Justice In District One Juvenile Court, Utah, As Affected By The 1967 U.S. Supreme Court Decision On Gault, Ruth V. Mickelson

A determination was made of the degree to which the four requirements of Gault were met in District I of the Utah Juvenile Court between July 1, 1967 and June 30, 1969. The requirements handed down in 1967 by the U. S. Supreme Court were as follows: (a) guarantee to the right of notice given to the juvenile himself and to his parents; (b) right to counsel, representation by counsel in juvenile delinquency proceedings; (c) right to confrontation and cross-examination by prosecuting witness; and (d) privilege against self-incrimination in juvenile delinquency proceedings.

The purpose of this research was to measure the attitudes of Thai students at Utah State University toward the American political system, favorably or unfavorably.

The method of this study was an opinion or attitude survey. Copies of the questionnaires were personally delivered to and collected from Thai students by the writer. Ninety-four questionnaires or 97.92 percent of the total ninety-six were returned

The American College Testing Program's Institutional Self-Study Survey was used in this study to consider USU students' goals, achievements, and evaluations of their collegiate experience. Goals included were students' educational majors, vocational plans, final college degree sought, and the relative importance attached to attaining Vocational, Academic, Social, and Non-Conventional goals. Achievements studied were both intellectual and nonacademic out-of-class accomplishments, and students' perceived progress in achieving Intellectual-Humanistic, Group-Welfare, Scientific-Independent, and Practical-status outcomes of their collegiate experience. This study investigated different methods of teaching literature to identify those techniques that result in either apathy or motivation. It was found that traditional literature teaching methods do not result in student motivation for increased reading, Instances were cited in which an oral approach to literature teaching was effectively used to achieve the desired results of student motivation, interest, and comprehension. Oral interpretation as a tool for motivation was discussed. Both empirical studies in that field and reading authorities' opinions were examined to discover the unique contributions oral interpretation could offer to literature teaching.

The objective of this study was to evaluate on a qualitative and quantitative basis the different institutional variables that influence the outcome of the legislature.

The attitudes of selected university professors and students in Utah toward labor unions were obtained through the medium of a questionnaire.

Most students and professors favored anti-trust laws for unions, were against the abolishment of the right-to-work law, and were evenly divided in their feelings concerning the settlement of strikes by compulsory arbitration.

A majority of students and professors were against an increase in overtime pay and a shorter work week. Students favored and professors opposed a raise in the minimum wage.

Professors and students anticipated growth in union membership as a percentage of the labor force.

This thesis presents an evaluation of instructional television as used in four courses at Utah State University. The study is divided into four parts: first, student attitudes and reactions; second, faculty attitudes and reactions; third, the costs involved for the individual faculty members concerned, the academic department, the Radio-Television department, and the University as a whole; and fourth, recommendations concerning the future use of instructional television at Utah State University.

The four courses involved in this study were basic introductory courses in Political Science, English, Sociology, and Music.

Reliable price data for fat cattle in Utah are becoming difficult to obtain because fewer and fewer slaughter cattle go through market channels where live cattle prices are reported.

The objectives of this study were to determine how correlated Utah fat cattle prices are with the California dressed meat market for cattle and formulate an equation or equations enabling reliable price predictions to be made for the Utah slaughter cattle market.

An Economic Analysis Of The Predator Problem In The Range-Sheep Industry In Utah, David Murray Curle

The economic effects, to the Utah range-sheep operation and to the economy of the state of Utah, of predation upon sheep were studied by use of a personal interview survey. This survey sampled 20 percent of the range-sheep operations in Utah.

The sheep and lamb death loss from predation was found to be 61.0 sheep and lambs per 1,000 head of ewes in fiscal 1969. The survey. also showed that 71.36 percent of the losses were lambs and 28.64 percent were ewes.

The total economic loss to Utah sheep ranchers was calculated to be 1,062,502 dollars as a result of …
