Electronic Thesis and Dissertation Repository

The Global Financial and Economic Crisis involve complex interaction among diverse causal factors. This article seeks to ascertain the policy implications of countries’ exposure and responses to these twin crises. It does so by comparing five economies – The United States, United Kingdom, Iceland, Greece, and Canada - according to their economic performance through the crises. Preliminary Economic Evaluation Of Brentuximab Vedotin In Relapsed And Refractory Hodgkin Lymphoma: An "Early Look" Model Based On Phase Ii Results, Vusal Babashov

Electronic Thesis and Dissertation Repository

We conducted a cost-effectiveness analysis of brentuximab vedotin for the treatment of relapsed and refractory Hodgkin Lymphoma (HL) from health care system perspective in Canada. We developed a Markov decision analytical model to simulate lifetime costs and benefits and parameterized the model using brentuximab phase II clinical trial and cd-link data which is a linked datasets of cancer registry with administrative databases of Ontario, Canada. In the base case scenario, brentuximab treatment led to an increase of 0.352 Quality Adjusted Life Years (QALYs) per person and $108,500 per person, which resulted in incremental cost effectiveness ratio (ICER) of $308,532 per …

I build on Pierre Bourdieu’s theoretical framework to probe this ambiguity, seeking to provide context and critical assessments that will improve crime reporting and its reception. In the course of my work, I examine how popular films like West Side Story inform journalists’ descriptions of gangs. Though reporters have …

A Case Study Comparison Of Direct Selling Alternative Food Networks In Belo Horizonte, Brazil And Toronto, Canada, Erin M. Pratley

Electronic Thesis and Dissertation Repository

This thesis examines two local direct-selling AFNs: one in the Global North, in Toronto, Canada, and the other in the Global South, in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. It considers the experiences and roles of farmers within these two AFNs, using the findings to assess the potential and limitations of these two networks in what are two very different geographical locations. A comparative case study approach was taken, using a qualitative methodology. To the researcher’s knowledge, the comparison of a Northern AFN to a Southern AFN has not been documented, and thus this study provides a unique opportunity to observe how the …
