It was the purpose of this study (1) to investigate the circumstances that seemed to warrant this le6islati on; (2) to study the important aspects of the bill itself; (3) to follow the bill through its heated political battle prior to its legislative passage; (4) to trace the factors that led to its defeat as a referendum measure; (5) to grasp the significance of defeat to Governor Olson; and (6) to determine the merits of the measure in relationship to conservation and production.

The two main purposes of this study were to document the events leading to the establishment of the nondiscriminatory employment policy for certificated personnel from ethnic minority groups in the Stockton Unified School District and the subsequent practices which have developed since the adoption of the policy in 1947.

An Analysis Of The Effects Of Importing Farm Workers From Mexico, Robert Lafrance Dunbar

Each year, hundreds of thousands of farm workers emigrate from Mexico. to cultivate and harvest crops on American farms and return to Mexico at the end of the harvest season. These men are permitted to enter the United States under the auspices of the Mexican farm labor program established by the federal government. The migration of these farm laborers has involved "...one of the most significant population movements in the Western Hemisphere in the last twenty-five years".
