Improved Initial Class Diagrams With Atsa:Oo, Robert B. K Brown, Angela Piper Jan 2012

Improved Initial Class Diagrams With Atsa:Oo, Robert B. K Brown, Angela Piper

Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences - Papers: Part A

Despite the popularity of Object Oriented programming and design, their analysis phase is difficult to learn and relies heavily on the analyst's intuition and experience. Even industry practitioners can produce initial class diagrams requiring time-consuming refinements in the design phase. Business clients can find it difficult to follow its diverse techniques and constructs. The A TSA method offers analysis under a single theoretical framework that is specifically designed to be easily understood by both neophyte practitioners and business clients. However as it follows the procedural paradigm, it is not suitable for direct 00 application. This paper presents an adaptation of …

Structural Insights Into The Dehydroascorbate Reductase Activity Of Human Omega-Class Glutathione Transferases, Huina Zhou, Joseph Brock, Dan Liu, Philip G. Board, Aaron J. Oakley Jan 2012

The reduction of dehydroascorbate (DHA) to ascorbic acid (AA) is a vital cellular function. The omega-class glutathione transferases (GSTs) catalyze several reductive reactions in cellular biochemistry, including DHA reduction. In humans, two isozymes (GSTO1-1 and GSTO2-2) with significant DHA reductase (DHAR) activity are found, sharing 64% sequence identity. While the activity of GSTO2-2 is higher, it is significantly more unstable in vitro. We report the first crystal structures of human GSTO2-2, stabilized through site-directed mutagenesis and determined at 1.9Å resolution in the presence and absence of glutathione (GSH). The structure of a human GSTO1-1 has been determined at 1.7Å resolution …
