The new media specialist must make many decisions in the first few weeks on the job. One of the things he must decide is how he is going to select and train student assistants. This study is a survey of the library o£ the Colo Junior-Senior High School, Colo, Iowa, during the 1972-1973 school year. It is limited to a strictly local situation, and the information secured and analyzed will be used primarily as a guide in planning future library programs in this particular situation. No attempt was made to do a statistical analysis or correlation. Rather. the conclusions show general trends and areas of weakness and strength.
