This study assessed the perceptions of Extension agents, administrators and board members toward the climate for change identified as the need for change, openness to change, potential for change and participation in change. Age, their sex, years on Extension staff, FTE group, Research and Extension Centers, years served on the Extension board, size of community and site where one resides were variables selected to test research hypotheses formulated for this study. Agricultural Mechanics Instruction In Nebraska Secondary Vocational Agriculture Programs For The 1990’S, Neal Joseph Schlautman

The study was conducted to determine agricultural mechanics units of instruction that should be included and the extent to which they should be included in the Nebraska high school vocational agriculture curriculum in the 1990's as perceived by three respondent groups. The respondent groups included 36 vocational agriculture instructors, 36 farm operators and 36 managers of mechanics related agribusinesses in Nebraska. A mailed survey was used to collect data for the study. High School Home Economics Students’ Perceptions Of Subject Matter Needs In Home Economics Curriculum, Dixie J. Torres

The purpose of this research was to identify subject matter areas and specific concepts in home economics which senior high school home economics students consider important. Comparisons were first made between students' perceptions and the perceptions of parents, both economically disadvantaged and non-economically disadvantaged. In addition, comparisons were made between students' perceptions of subject matter and specific concepts needed and what home economics teachers perceive is emphasized in their teaching. Questionnaires were mailed to home economics teachers in 22 schools from the six class sizes of schools in economically depressed Nebraska counties. Curry's (1983) model of learning style framework with Claxton & Murrell's (1987) adaptations was used to study the profile of the non-major in a college biology course. The purpose of the study was to provide empirically derived data in both a qualitative and quantitative format of the non major (both successful and unsuccessful students) to improve the course. Over 600 students were administered the Learning Style Profile [(LSP) (National Association of Secondary School Principals) Indicator (MBTI) (NASSP) and the Myers-Briggs Type (Consulting Psychologists Press)] to determine the students' learning styles as a predictor for Success in the course.
