The research of focus for this data curation profile involves the study of real-time traffic signal performance measures. The researcher creates profiles of traffic movement for specific intersections by measuring the number of vehicles passing through an intersection and the amount of time spent at an intersection on a movement-by-movement basis over a 24 hour period. The overall goal of the research is to enable the state department of transportation to prioritize which traffic signals need improvement.
