Rokeach's Two-Attitude Theory Of Behavior: An Evaluation And Empirical Test, Wayne A. White
Rokeach's Two-Attitude Theory Of Behavior: An Evaluation And Empirical Test, Wayne A. White
Electronic Theses & Dissertations
When Social scientists first became interested in the concept of attitude it was assumed that attitudes were related to human social behavior. Most early definitions of the attitude concept reflected an assumption that attitudes are a precursor of behavior. This assumption was brought into question during the 1930's by research findings that indicated a lack of correspondence between attitudes and behavior. Numerous research strategies developed since that time have generally failed to produce strong support for the assumed relationship between attitudes and behavior.
Anticholinesterase Action And Electroconvulsive Shock-Induced Disruption Of Taste-Illness Association, Terry J. Debriere
Anticholinesterase Action And Electroconvulsive Shock-Induced Disruption Of Taste-Illness Association, Terry J. Debriere
Electronic Theses & Dissertations
Electroconvulsive shock (ECS) interpolated temporally between the pairing of a novel taste and an induced gustatory illness prevents the taste from being associated with the illness (Kral, 1971). Physostigmine has been shown to protect against retrograde amnesic effects of ECS on learning of a passive avoidance task (Davis, Thomas, and Adams, 1971). Physostigmine protection of ECS induced disruption of a conditioned taste aversion was investigated using a 2 (physostigmine vs. saline) x 2 (ECS vs. sham shock) x 2 (conditioned vs. nonconditioned) x 2 (conditioning day vs. test day) factorial design with repeated measures over the last factor. Results indicated …
A Comparison Of Normal And Retardate Performance On The Mira Myokinetic Psychodiagnosis, Victor L. Baldwin
A Comparison Of Normal And Retardate Performance On The Mira Myokinetic Psychodiagnosis, Victor L. Baldwin
Electronic Theses & Dissertations
The Objective of the present study was to compare performance of normals and retardates on an expressive motor task. The test used was the Mira Myokinetic Psychodiagnosis. This test was selected because of its quality of objectivity and lack of use in the area of mental retardation. The need for such a study is evidenced by the speculation of various authors concerning the role of expressive motor behavior in personality development and its diagnostic value. The test was administered to twenty normals and twenty retardates. The retardate sample was selected from the patient population of Parsons State Hospital and Training …
The Effects Of Anxiety Producing Stimuli On Visual Perceptual Thresholds: A Study In Perceptual Defense, David A. Johnson
The Effects Of Anxiety Producing Stimuli On Visual Perceptual Thresholds: A Study In Perceptual Defense, David A. Johnson
Electronic Theses & Dissertations
The purpose of this investigation was to examine experimentally the phenomenon of perceptual defense as it is related to cigarette smoking behavior. In making this examination a population of undergraduate college students was divided into three groups according to their smoking habits. The three groups were identified as smokers, non-smokers, and quitters. A list of smoking related words was equated with a list of neutral words according to their frequency of appearance in print. These lists of words were then combined to form one list with a random distribution of smoking and neutral words, and this list was presented as …
